Replacement Laptop A1466 Battery for MacBook Air 13 Battery A1466 (Mid 2012, Mid 201...

This was a battery for a 2015 MacBook Air that was showing that the battery needed service. Apple charges nearly £160 for this and in many cases you have to leave your computer with them for between 5 and 10 days. The option is to get this. All the tools you need come with it, instructions are easy to follow (although I would suggest you watch a couple of the YouTube videos before you do this if you are non-technical). The whole job takes around 15 minutes if you take it easy. Whilst you have the computer apart, I would also recommend that you use an air duster, carefully, to blow away any dust accumulation from the fan and vent areas. Once you have performed the replacement, go to the Apple menu in the top left of the screen, choose "About this Mac" and then "System Report". Go to the "Power" tab and check that the system is reporting the battery correctly. Shut down the computer completely and let it charge fully. Use it off power until the battery is just below 10% and recharge. Repeat three or four times to get the best out of the battery and you are good to go. To use another word, "Simples!"

Replaced my A1466 (early 2015) MacBook Air battery which died and would not charge. It came with two screw drivers to undo the laptop's back case and internal battery mounts. Also Included were, soft rubber keyboard protector, new screws, incase the old screws were worn, and step by step instructions on how to replace the battery. It took me less than 15mins to install myself (but with care). I then calibrated the battery by firstly charging to 100% and leave it plugged in for 2hrs full charge. Then drain the battery until 0% and leave it drained for a further 5hrs, before once more full recharge. The battery works great without an issue so far. Although the kit was 3rd party, it was well packaged and provided everything possible required to get the job done. Just Brilliant!

This battery was easy to replace on my MacBook Air. However, after letting it run down it wouldn’t charge. I suspected a problem with the machine, but I thought it worth contacting the vendor. They couldn’t have been more helpful — a replacement battery and a reinvigorated Mac is the result!

I am no techie but this was extremely easy to fit. I watched a tutorial on YouTube as the written instructions are a bit brief. Handy to have some small dishes handy to put the different screws in. So far it’s working a charm.

This was the second time I purchased a replacement battery for my Macbook Air from this seller. The first time it was fine for about 3 years. This new one, that I bought in January 2024, started to lose charge after just a couple of hours of light use around the beginning of June 2024, so after roughly six months use. I'd hoped it might be temporary, but it is getting worse, so I have ordered another battery from a different seller, as this one is now outside of the return time. I'm thinking this one was faulty, as they are supposed to last 3-5 years. I feel a bit ripped off - the other seller will take back the battery and give a replacement, even outside the 30 day Amazon guarantee.

My old 2015 Macbook air was almost unusable without it being plugged in, apart from that it still works fine. I was looking relucatantly at buying a new one. Then I stumbled across how easy it looked to replace the battery. This product had good reviews so I went for it. I watched a couple of videos and got myself familiar with the process and prepared (labels and pots for screws - they are not all the same size so be careful). Was really pleased that the product came with all the tools required. I took my time and only 15 minutes turned it on and I waited...hey presto....it was all good. 6 days later, it is still going strong and whilst I havent used it much, it still has loads of charge left. The only thing you need to be careful of is the ribbon attachement to the PCB....... Great produst - I feel like I have a whole new Macbook

I was slightly dubious as to whether a battery a quarter of the price of the OEM (and 50% of iFixit) would be okay. Pleased to report it works like a dream. Fitting was straightforward . My MacBook Air (Early 2015 - A1466) is now happily running with Sonoma 14.5 (using OpenCore Legacy Patcher) and the battery lasts at least 9 hours. This 7.5 hours longer than before replacement. The instructions look to have been translated in English by online translator and caused me to check whether to perform a 12 hour charge/discharge to 7% cycle. The iFixit instructions suggest 2 hour/7% cycles. However other people to have done the 12 hour so I followed suit and the MacBook is back to its original state. Too early to comment on longevity, but the time being I'm very happy.

The battery on my MacBook Air was running out of charge very quickly, so I needed to have it replaced. Apple charge almost £150 and my local computer repair shop wanted £90 plus VAT. I looked on YouTube and it seemed quite easy to do it myself. So, I ordered this kit on Sunday afternoon and it arrived on Monday lunchtime (what did we do before Amazon?). This kit includes a battery, the necessary tools and other items. I timed myself and it took me exactly 12 minutes to install the new battery from start to finish. I felt so smug having done the repair for less than half the price the repair shop wanted. The power calibration takes a day, but now my computer is as good as new. So, great value for money. I'd definitely recommend this item so long as you study the YouTube videos before you purchase. Take your time and don't worry about making a mistake.

Très bonne batterie pour MacBook Air 13 (2012 dans mon cas). La batterie offre une bonne autonomie et la longévité paraît très correcte. Le kit de montage est de plus très pratique et la housse de protection de clavier en silicone transparent est un cadeau bien appréciable. Je vous la recommande 👍

Byłem o krok od zakupu nowego macbooka, chociaż mój air nie jest tak bardzo stary (kupiony w grudniu 2018). Bateria przestała działać prawidlowo, zainwestowałem w tę z niniejszego ogłoszenia. Po dwóch miesiącach testów - mój macbook jest jak nowy. Polecam wszystkim. Nawet jeśli chcecie kupić nowy sprzęt, bo w starym nie domaga bateria to ją wymieńcie i macbooka dajcie babci, mamie, tacie. Wszyscy będą zadowoleni :). Testowany czas działania na jasności 70% - ok. 8h

This is going to be an easy review. After getting a pop-up message about a week ago saying that my laptop battery was severely degraded and should be replaced I contacted Apple support via telephone on Saturday morning. The Apple support representative confirmed that Apple could change my battery for $129 in the Apple store. The representative asked me if I’d like to set up an appointment. I said yes let’s do it. There happened to be an appointment available later that afternoon at an Apple store which was about a 1 hour drive away. After arriving at the Apple Store, on time for my appointment, an Apple representative spent 25 minutes running diagnostics on my laptop only to tell me what I already knew, that my laptop was in pristine condition other than a degraded battery. He confirm that the batteries were $129 installed but said he would have to check to see if there was any in stock. After waiting another 10 minutes he came out and said he didn’t have any batteries and he would have to order it. I explain to the Apple representative how disappointed I was that I drove an hour under the impression that I could get my laptop fixed. So the representative asked if I’d like him to call other stores. I said sure and gave him two other stores to call and check for me. The representative went in the back room, came out about 10 minutes later and said that the first door did not have any and would have to order it as well. I asked him about the second store and he said he hadn’t checked. You can probably imagine my frustration at this point. I asked him to go check the next-store. After making me wait again he came out and said the second store didn’t have any either. The Apple representative then asked me if he could set me up for an install appointment and he would order the battery. I asked him how long it would take to get the battery. He said it could be two days, two weeks or two months. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I told him no thanks and I left the store. I decided at that point to search Amazon for the MacBook battery and found this one to my surprise. I added the battery to my Amazon shopping cart, and made the 1 hour drive back home. I didn’t immediately purchase the battery because I wanted to read some reviews first. So this morning I got up read a couple reviews, watched a couple of the videos, and was convinced that this was a project I was willing to conquer. I went to my Amazon shopping cart and click the “buy now“ button. The message said if I purchased within the next 17 minutes I would get same-day Amazon locker delivery. Of course I purchased. I got a text message mid afternoon on Sunday that the battery had arrived. I went to go pick it up from the Amazon locker. It was well packed. I open the box. Everything was there. It came with two magnetic screwdrivers. Extra screws. New rubber feet for the bottom of the laptop if I needed them. And a clear vinyl keyboard protector which was a nice added gift even though I don’t need it. Everything seemed straight forward. I completely power down the laptop. Flipped it over and started taking out the screws. I carefully set them on the provided sponge pad, in the same pattern that they came out of the laptop so I wouldn’t mix up screws. Surprisingly the back cover came off pretty easily with no extra effort or prying once the screws were out. The battery also came out with little effort once the screws were out. I had light traces of dust around the vent of the laptop case which I cleaned out with a can of compressed air before putting the laptop back together. From start to finish it took me less than 10 minutes. This took into account that it was my first time, I was being extra careful, and I took time to clean the inside of the laptop. When I got everything back together. I flipped it over powered it up and went into the system information app and clicked on “power”. It showed that the battery came 71% charged, was operating normally, and had more amp hour capacity than the OEM battery. This was an extremely easy install. Once I run the laptop on the battery for a few days I will update this review with information about the battery life in general performance of the battery. As for the price and the easy install, I definitely give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Stämde väl med beskrivningen och innehöll de verktyg och skruvar som behövdes. Enkelt och flera videos fanns på Youtube. Installerade, laddade fullt och har sedan uppdaterat program och arbetat oavbrutet under 3 och en halv timme. 70% kvar av batteriet. Behöver jag sägs att det var som en ny dator för 700 kronor, stor skillnad jämfört med det gamla batteriet. Skulle köpa det igen. (Med reservation för att det kanske känns annorlunda över tid.

Es handelt sich um einen ersten Eindruck nach dem Einbau, wird zu späterem Zeitpunkt noch um eine Langzeiterfahrung ergänzt. Im Lieferumfang ist alles dabei was man braucht und noch mehr. Bspw ein vollständiger Satz Ersatzschrauben, Stopper für den Boden. Außerdem eine Anleitung, gute Schraubenzieher und natürlich der Akku. Der Wechsel geht schnell von der Hand, das Auslesen mit Coconut ergabt das sogar eine Kapazität von 8.131mAh anliegt, was der Laufzeit nochmal zuträglich sein sollte. Außerdem ist noch positiv aufgefallen, dass das Produktionsdatum Ende2023 ist und der Akku noch nicht lange irgendwo im Lager rumlag. Fazit: erster Eindruck ist wirklich gut. Mehr kann man für 50€ einfach nicht verlangen. Mal sehen wie es in einem halben Jahr aussieht.
