Good investment
I ended up purchasing the largest one they had since it cost less $ and measured out how big I really needed it to fit on my counter and to be able to store it. I used the plastic cover to mark where to cut and used sharp scissors to cut it to the size that I needed it. I can finally prep my food with space to spare. When you are having to prep many different herbs and veggies at one, it is essential to have space to work and not have to keep using storage bowls and create more unnecessary dishes. This is still very large and if I really want to cut one veggie at a time, I can fold/funnel the food into the pot or a storage bowl. As you can see I have my 8" knife on it and it still has a few inches more to work on. Between the knife and this cutting mat, I finally have the right tools to make prep for large meals quick and easy. If you are curious about the knife, I have included the link to the knife also. Great For Stir-Fry
It's very nice. But definitely larger than what I needed - for my small apartment, this thing is larger than my counter-top.It's light and flexible, which makes cutting a whole cabbage on it very easy. Just lift the whole thing (since the cutting board doesn't weigh much), and then dump into a wok full of hot oil to begin stir-frying. Same applies for sausage and steak, if you're going to stir-fry those. The size of the product is both its greatest strength and Achilles' heel. If you have space, it's very useful and convenient. If you are going to cut heavy thick/heavy meats on it, be aware it *does* scratch fairly easily. It's not going to look pretty after heavy use, but it'll get the job done; in the end, if you've got the space, don't plan on using this for any heavy cutting tasks (like a preparing a 10lb piece of shoulder meat to make some roast beef), and just want the convenience of being able to fold your cutting board and dump the cut foods into the pot (or wok), this is the product for you. (I only wish it came in 24x16 inch size.)

Positives: We had purchased this chopping mat because my husband and I like to cut up all our veggies at once and this mat was awesome for that! We are able to place all the veggies on one board and still be able to cut other stuff at the same time. It's big and a very useful item for the kitchen. Instead of 2-3 different chopping boards, we only need this one mat and we have been using it all the time now.Negatives: The knives do cut the mat, so we know we would have to go through at least 2-3 a year. Since it's a large mat, it is hard to wash in kitchen sink; however, it's better than washing 2-3 chopping boards, since the board is flexible.

Perfect for what it is.... a cutting mat that protects your counter top.
My husband bought this for me right after we remodeled our kitchen to protect our counters. It fits well on my counter top, is generous for the large batch cooking that I do, and really does protect my counters very well. The flexibility is great for trying to clean it because I can bend it to get it into my sink and really scrub it down. It's much too large to be used as a scoop to put in a pot or something, though, even the large pots I use to cook with. But that seems like a no-brainer, really. Perhaps I could if I was a larger person, and perhaps I had industrial sized pots and stuff, but I don't. I just have larger than normal sizes. It does slip around on your counter some, so while it works well for chopping, especially if you have a smaller countertop where it can be butted up against a backsplash or something. It's not great for rolling out things, though. You *can* put a very small bit of water in between it and the counter, and that does help it stay in place a little better, but still not quite something that will take the place of a very large rolling mat made of silicone or something.I've been using it for a while, and we STILL haven't cut through it. It is pretty scratched up, but it's still not exactly ugly, either. It can warp some, too, if you put heat on it. But mine didn't stay that way when I accidentally got it too close to the stove.I like it. I'm thinking about buying 2 or 3 more to help protect more of my counters.

It looks like it will hold up.
I needed something to protect the table while butchering meat. This mat is large enough to cover a good portion of the work area. It washes up easily with soap and bleach. I feel it will hold up to my knife for years.

Thick good quality
My spouse made a butcher block top then told me not to use a knife on it. Huh?This covers most of it and I can use it for rolling dough and I leave it down. Wipes clean easily makes me feel it’s cleaner than wood

Excellent product and serves its purpose!!
I’m a state judge for the South Carolina BBQ Association, and as such we cook a LOT of BBQ!! This Matt is ideal for easy storage and for use of preparing large cuts and volumes of meat and other foods. Excellent product and intend to purchase a second one !!

Pretty stiff, and slips around easily on the counter
Pretty stiff, and slips around easily on the counter. I feel like finding a silicone mat or something would be a better station for food prep - or you need a rubber thing to go underneath this. I popped it behind a cupboard and I honestly don't even think I'll ever use it again. Pretty disappointed, as it seems to just be a plastic sheet cut into a rectangle.
