I rarely buy a "kitchen tool" and find that it lives up to the marketing hype, but this one actually does. We've had ours for about a month and have used it to open a dozen jars or so and it has easily and effortlessly opened every one. Just put the opener in place on the lid and hold down the button with a finger and over the course of about 10 seconds or so the opener clamps down on the lid and twists it open. Simple to use and powerful. I am 100% happy with mine and would gladly buy this again.

The media could not be loaded. Ever since covid began and even more so when my wife and I had covid we have been buying more groceries online and more jarred goods as well. This little device has made our lives soo much easier. It works really well in opening standard and even not so standard jars. It’s really strong and easy to use. I even gave one to my grandma who has arthritis and she simply loves it !! Comes in handy when you need it.

Update on my previous review. I have since needed to use it once. It worked ok. The arms that grab the jar should be a little deeper from the lid grabber. There are various size jars and this just reached the jar to hold it firmly. It could be an issue in future. It worked, opened the jar, and is a great idea but might need a little tweaking or adjusting for future situations. Overall I think I will be pleased with it the more I use it. It works for my arthritic hands and that is what counts.8/15/21 update I had occasion to use this item just this week. It was slow so I had to replace the batteries. It took a couple false starts and finally it opened the 24 oz. pickle jar. Honestly, I wouldn’t buy it again. I’d try a different model. It’s adequate but not amazing. Too bad. It’s a good theory.

Easy to use. Instructions are very simple. Didn't come with batteries so make sure you have 2 x AA batteries to hand.Opening a jar of preserves was very easy and the lid just popped right off (I had been trying for weeks to remove the lid and just didn't have the strength to do it). This is going to make my life in the kitchen so much easier!

It does work on medium and large jars. I have not tried on a small one yet. It also easy to use. The speed is slow and takes lots of room in the kitchen drawer.

I recently had elbow tendon surgery which left me with only one usable arm for now. I needed a gadget that would open jars using only one hand. Once I had the jar opener positioned and was able to push and hold the button for hold for a few seconds the choice started to close on the jar, importantly, I believe that this jar opener has a built-in tiny electromagnet which helped to keep the jar opener correctly positioned.I could hear the little motor working and watched with anticipation. Within another few seconds I heard the pop and the lid was completely loosened. Very pleasant surprise.

Would give it no stars if I could. Already have the old Hamilton Beach Jar Opener with two buttons but it got "borrowed," so I bought this because we have this big jar of olives that we can not open, and bought this. One of the rubber pieces came half off as soon as the opener started rotating. Having only one button makes it difficult to manuever. Magnet never got low enough to attach to jar cover and turn it. Absolute crap. Not worth the money to send it back.

I live alone, and I always have to run upstairs to bug my male neighbors to open jars for me. Well...one night at 1030pm i got the urge for olives and I couldn't open the jar and it was too late to bug someone to open. I went straight to Amazon an ordered this gadget here. My life is soooo much better now. Arrived in 2 days, easy to operate, and there's no bugging anyone. Great product.
