I had a 5 year old direct connect Hayden system that had a miserable powerhead from day one. As typical, the Hayden system sucks like a mother so no complaints there! They are a good system. But the powerhead was UGGGGHHH! So very heavy and nearly threw out my shoulder just to push it across my floors, especially carpet. The Hayden system I had in a previous house seemed to be self-propelled and helped you push the vac across the floors. My current powerhead is the same kind, just a newer version...and it was horrible. So I went looking and found this. Have used it for 2 months now and I am back in love (well, as much in love as you can be with a vac) with my vac. This is nearly effortless, even on the carpet. It is "self propelled" as well....I'm sure not really self propelled, but it totally feels like it! I feel like this is similar to my old Hayden powerhead that I wished I'd brought with me to the new house. But no regrets, now! This sucks like a mother and glides like one too! Don't hesitate! Make your cleaning easier! You can't get Hayden anymore anyway, this is an excellent product that works great with my system! When I need to replace my wand (coming up soon), I will get the wand this company makes as well, their quality is great.

I bought this to work with my Beam central vacuum system. It was to replace a defunct OEM brush unit. This integrated flawlessly with my Beam, and works wonders. I have a short haired dog which sheds like crazy. I have used not only my Beam, but also two other brands of "pet hair" vacuums. I never felt like they quite did the job, or at least not unless I made several passes, coming at it from multiple angles. This brush does the trick in maybe two passes, in perpendicular angles.The construction of this unit does feel slightly cheap. It reminds me of vacuums from the 80's, and the mechanism that changes the brush height feels like it's 80's technology as well. That being said, it doesn't feel like it's going to just fall apart on me, and I don't feel like I need to baby it. Maybe I just wish it felt a little more robust and modern. All that being said, it's doing it's job remarkably well, so it still gets 5 stars from me. We'll see how it hold up in the long run.

This item didn't match the vacuum set up I have as it suggested

I had been looking for quite a while to replace my old power head. Many were very high priced but based on reviews and the price I decided to give it a try. Having German Shepherds I vacuum a lot and have gone through several brands of power heads, low price to high price. This Cen-Tec Systems CT20DXQD Quiet Drive Vacuum Electric Brush is FANTASTIC compared to all the others I tried. It is a lot quieter than any other power heads I have owned. Beater bar picks up hair that my old one would not pick up and suction is great. It is adjustable to the height of carpet where some heads are self adjusting, believe me self adjusting just does not cut it. Low profile allows me to get under furniture. I had only one problem with it. Brand new out of the box, used it for about a half hour the bulb (light) stopped working. Disappointed, but upon contacting Cent-Tech support the staff was fantastic. No hold time, and situation addressed by sending me a new bulb. I know some of the reviews were not great, do not know why. Maybe it was the vacuum problem. Mine is a central vac system, single motor. This Cen-Tec Systems CT20DXQD Quiet Drive Vacuum Electric Brush works better than original I got my system new. The wand connection was compatible, found that out by contacting Cent-Tech prior to buying. Another kudos to customer support.

I have an old Kenmore vacuum that refuses to die - or rather I can't find a new one with the features I want. So this replacement brush head will extend the useful life of my old Kenmore. Pro: it works and cleans carpets well. Con: the wand fits somewhat loosely into the brush head, so I need to be careful not to drop the brush when carrying the vacuum.
