snooze button. When the alarm sounds at pre-set time, one can temporally turn the alarm off for 5 minutes by pressing the snooze button, then 5 minutes later the alarm will ring again. One can repeat this action again when the alarm rings after 5 minutes for a while.

Q: What size battery is required?

It uses a Lithium Battery size CR2032.

Q: Can you turn it of when not using it to preserve battery?

No, you have to remove the battery. I do not like having a button type battery in this clock. I don't necessarily always have that particular type battery around and may not be able to obtain one. If the battery goes dead you have to find that type of battery. I cruise a lot and have no way to get that battery in foreign countries. I guess I could always have one on hand but that is difficult and impractical. If the clock were powered by a AAA or AA type battery it would be easy to keep one available. More than you asked, sorry.

Compact and reliable

This little clock is in my bathroom, keeping me on time for work and appointments. I love that it also shows the day of the week, and the date. Takes little space and is easy to pack for travel, too.

Old faithful, some improvements

I had one of these for many years. It was easy and intutive to set and never failed me. A few years ago, it disappeared, and I finally got a couple of these. They're actually a little better because the light is bright enough to read the time by. They don't look or feel quite as solid as the old one, but I've been using them for several months and they've been fine.There are cheaper and possibly similar ones out there that might be a better deal. I tried a few before coming back to the Westclox ones, because the others were pointlessly complicated and hard to read.
