Works great
Followed some other reviewers' advice and used the "Other device" (wifi) install and had no issues whatsoever connecting to my network. Hardware that came with it was adequate. I paired it with an early 2000s overhead door opener very quickly and easily. All my other openers, cars and remote keypad continued to work just fine.As others have pointed out, the beeping warning when you close the door through the app (and only through the app) is pretty annoying and seems to last way too long in my opinion. I suppose they had to do it to prevent lawsuits from someone remotely closing the door and hitting someone or something but I wish I could turn it off or turn it down. I'd sign a waiver.I also integrated mine with xfinity home so the garage door sensor shows up in our home security setup now and I can open and close the door with a slider in the xfinity home app. Very handy. Once the opener is setup you just give the xfinity app your chamberlain account info and it pairs up right away. The chamberlain app also works with Apple Watch. I can open and close the door through a complication with the watch. So I can just look at my watch to see if the door is closed, pull up the home app or look at the chamberlain app. Love the flexibility.Overall very satisfied. We'll see if it stands the test of time.

Impress with both the vendor and the product
Delivered ahead of promised date. Tracking thru Canada Post was right on.unit was easy to install, had it up and running and mounted in under 15 minutes. Directions are easy to follow. Door open alert is great and am hoping it will prevent me from freezing out my garage at 40 below when the cold weather affects proper closure

Not worth it
I'm an expert on networking, and iCloud app based home automation. This was by far the biggest challenge for me to set up. The door sensor doesn't like the hub when it has internet. The hub doesn't like Internet when the door Sensors setup. About the only thing that was easy was pairing It with my garage door. When I called their 1-800 number they told me try replacing the door sensor if that doesn't work replace the hub, well that's the only two items that are included in this. And if its bad why am I getting a bad product. When I went to send it back I found out you have to get approval from the 3rd party and that would take two days.. long story short I jumped some wire got a USB end and manually programed it on my computer before I got a answer back. It works as it's suppose to now. But I'm still not impressed for $100. Fully functional I'd say it's worth more like $25-$30

Excellent- no worries if the door was left open
Works well with my 10 year old chamberlain garage door opener with the red learn button. At first I could not get it to work but thanks to their great customer service that told me the frequency for the red learn button is 390 MHz or 3 presses when configuring it

I now have an IOT garage door and I'm happy with it!
I purchased this to interface my iPhone to my 10 year old Chamberlain garage door opener. It works by allowing your phone to connect to it via the internet. You run an app on your phone that sends commands to the larger box in the photo, which must be connected to your home network via wifi. That box then sends out the open/close command to your garage door opener exactly as if it were one of the hand held remotes that came with the door opener. Remember when you had to "Pair" your remotes with your garage door opener? You have to do the equivalent operation with this box, too. The instructions are very clear on how to do this as well as connecting the device to your home network. The smaller box in the picture is a sensor that goes on the garage door itself. It comes with sticky foam adhesive strips and screws as well. I just cleaned off a patch of garage door using Formula 409 (got all the dirt and grease off) and figured the foam adhesive strips would be fine on their own. So far, that has been the case after a hot summer in California. The job of the sensor is to send messages back and forth to the control box (the one described in the previous paragraph) that let it know whether the door is currently open or closed. It senses this with some sort of tilt-sensing mechanism and a simple radio of some sort. The sensor is cool in that it enables the system to tell you whether your door is open or closed. since the main controller is connected to the internet, you can figure out whether your door is open or closed even when you are not in sight of it. Very cool! Even cooler, your garage door can message your phone and let you know when the door has been open or closed and for how long. On the iPhone, it does this in background mode as well as when the app is on.The internet connectivity allows the garage door to be opened or closed when you are not nearby. That is, you have the capability to be in across the country and as long as you have connectivity, you can open or close the door. This comes in handy when you get that call from a family member or room mate who accidentally locked themselves out without a key, for instance, or you need to let a maid or contractor in or out of the house without you being there and without giving them a key. Because you don't need to be there, the controller has a safety feature that some find annoying, but I find assuring. The feature is that the unit will flash a light (the shiny area in the middle of the box in the picture) and emit a beep for something like 10 seconds before closing the door. There is no beep or light when opening the door. Other reviewers have said they wanted to be able to defeat this "feature" so they can just close the door quickly and without the sound. I suspect we are a few thousand lawyer years away from that working out :-)All the necessary mounting gear was in the box and a bit more. The instructions were very clear and correct. I've had it for months now, and couldn't be happier. I recommend this for anyone who wants to plug their garage door into "the internet of things".
