Nice solution and quality
This little passive box allow you to control the output level from max attenuation, zero output (mute), then linearly decrease attenuation until it reach the same level of the input. It works clear and transparent if you use good cables.Simplifying, it has a potentiometer ( a button, if you prefer) that controls the output volume from mute to the same level of the input as you turn it clockwise. So the min volute is mute, the max volume is the same of the input. It is well constructed, good size, looks nice. It has a firm potentiometer so you can feel right and if you find the the right position it will stay there. It has 3.5mm connectors, not a pro and not balanced of course, but, as I said before, if you use good cables, even to adapt to RCA or whatever, it will shield very well.My particular problem is that all Bluetooth receivers I tested have the analog output level a little loud, it does not match standards to connect to a pro amplifier, it causes a notable distortion. This volume controller solve this problem.I know .... some of Bluetooth receivers have a volume control but is also chance the sound, most of these receivers have bass booster or 3D function which is a crime, it changes the original source sound quality.Note: This is not a amplifier, max volume is a image of the input.

Perfect for what its designed to do! Easy setup!
I purchased this volume control interface so I can easily increase or decrease my PC volume at the turn of the knob without having to resort to opening up the sound settings in Windows. This device is truly plug and play - no USB power is necessary - your speakers simply plug into the single 3.5mm "IN" port on the back of the device, then you run another male to male 3.5mm audio patch cord from your PC headphone port into the "OUT". That's it, it's just that easy. Takes less than a minute to set it up. I found the build quality of this interface to be excellent - it's sturdy, it's well balanced and has enough heft that you can operate it with one hand without worry about it "scooting" around on your desktop. Sound quality is excellent with no loss or deterioration noted. Just perfect, especially at the price point.

No noise, works as expected.
Have a device with an aux in but no line in, and then and a general volume control. The let's me get a suitable volume on the aux in from a line input for the device. No amplification as expected, no signal noise I have noticed audiblyGood sturdy feel, sits well on surface with thing plugged in. Volume knob feels good.

Well made, functions perfectly
I purchased this product so that I could adjust the volume on my headphones at my listening position. My favorite headphone amp doesn't have a remote control, so instead I run a headphone extension cord with a 3.5mm male stereo plug at both ends from the amp output to the input on this control, and then plug my headphones into the output. The unit works as an attenuator (it cuts volume, not increases it), so I set my headphone amp at a relatively high volume level, and then use the unit to set a comfortable volume. For headphones with a quarter-inch plug, I use an adapter plug to "step down" to the 3.5mm plug in the unit.Bottom line is that the volume control works smoothly, adds no noise or distortion I can discern, and the chassis is sturdily built and attractive. It sits on the side table next to my listening chair on four solid rubber feet. Unlike some other reviewers, I have had no trouble with the volume control being too stiff (maybe the manufacturer altered it after some of those reviews were published -- no way to know), but on my unit it does feel like the control might be a little flimsy and the knob doesn't look as high-class as the chassis. All in all, it is exactly what I needed and wanted, and while the price may be a touch high for what it is, it is a reasonable value.

After months of use, Still perfect!
I've never run out of charge and it recharges quickly. I use them to watch TV for hours while it is on mute for my wife's sake. (Football, basketball, etc.) It goes all day if necessary. Before, wearing my earphones, some programs were too low, some were too high in volume. Now I can regulate them in all cases.

It's Only As Good as The Sum Off It's Parts. Bad Audio Output.
I have been using this for a month. The Volume Control has a very good range of adjustment.Well made with the aluminum case and good circuit board, but there is a bad 3.5mm stereo audio output, the right channel must have the male plug pulled to the side to make contact. I've ordered several 3.5mm stereo cables too for my $350 headphones. I have purchased many in-line volume controls over the years and they all seem to use cheap potentiometers and don't last. True, with tv ads I turn the volume a lot. I use headphones to watch TV through a D/A converter. You can't mute commercials when using a TOSLink cable to the D/A.I may hardwire a short female 3.5mm audio cable to the output. Got to see what I have for parts?
