Bright and Wide
I purchased this IR lamp as an auxiliary floodlight for my nestcam outdoor camera. The side-to-side angle of coverage is quite wide, about 90 degrees total I would say. It is also quite bright that it shines down our driveway, and helps our other camera which has a better view of the driveway. The difference it makes at night is very noticeable, see attached pictures. Installation wasn't too difficult, I only drilled 2 holes for the screws because it is sort of difficult with the lamp enclosure being in the way while screwing the screw in. The ambient light sensor also works great, the lamp turns on maybe 20 minutes before the camera switches to IR mode, and that's with the light sensor pointed downwards under the roofing. The only thing you'll need is to get a DC 12V 1A plug and/or extension cable as applicable. At night the lightbulbs appear dull red to the naked eye.

UPDATE: STILL PERFORMING AFTER 2.5+ YEARS.
All 6 LEDs still working after 4 months. Plenty of light for driveway using Swann 1080P very low lux IR camera. Ordered with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ICSD93Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for power. If it keeps working another 2 months I will order more as I have 32 cameras that all need more IR illumination.UPDATE: Now in use 2.5+ years. Still working perfectly and with close to constant IR intensity. This has been mounted in total exposure to elements in full sun and rain. Connections and power supply have been in totally protected box mounted on exterior wall. Only the light assy. enclosure can be out in the weather. I will now be ordering several of these for expansion, but I will use the 8 LED units that come with a power supply. This unit has no power supply and 2 less LEDs, but the PS I ordered for use with this (link listed above) is also still working.

Minor hiccup at first, but now I am satisfied!
This is an UPDATED review. I had issues with the original shipment that I received, but I was contacted by the manufacturer and they were very quick to help alleviate my concerns. They have replaced the defective units with no hassle and now I am happy to report that the replacement lights are working great and really do brighten up the view on my parking lot cameras. The light is obviously not visible to the naked eye, but when the night-vision cameras kick on after dark you can really see very well now.Below is the original review-------------------------------------I bought 5 of these to help supplement the night vision ability of my camera system. ONE of the lights works fine. TWO of them are very dim. ONE of them worked fine for a few days and then just died. ONE of them was dead on arrival. So disappointed.

Must have for nighttime!
I've seen these units around for quite a while but never really thought about getting one as I didn't think it would really make a difference but I finally talked myself into getting one and holy cow what a difference! It really is like night and day there are 2 photos attached one with the illuminator and one without see if you can see the difference! (Camera has built in IR LEDs) Installation was easy I used 2 stainless self tapping screws but hardware is supplied one wire and it's ready to go, the unit is quite small about 4"x5" on the front and maybe 4" deep the construction seems great it's aluminum that is then coated and the wire connector has a water proof bushing, it uses the same connector as a camera and according to the sticker on the back of should draw about .5amps so if you get a splitter you should be able to run it off the same power source as a cctv camera that's what I'm doing but I've got a dedicated power supply that can provide 5 amps per camera. I've only had it a few hours but after seeing the difference I will be buying a few more.

Seems legit.
I was impressed with the build quality. I personally like the bring your own power supply approach. If you are like me you might have a small collection of power supplies lying around. I’m using one rated for 0.75 amps at 12VDC (9 watts).I wanted to use this with my Ring first gen doorbell. It did not work well for that application. The sensor in that unit is just old tech and I probably need to replace that camera. I was hoping this would be an easy fix. But I experimented with it in a couple of other locations and It is great for filling in blindspots for compatible cameras.I got the 6watt version to save power since it will be on whenever it is dark and my impression is that is more than ample if supplementing a security camera with onboard IR LEDs. I’ll probaby pick up a couple more of these to resolve some other blindspots.Install tip: the back cover flips around to give you some additional flexibility with mounting. Mine is attached to an L-bracket I had lying around.

extend your night vision camera
people who make cameras are in the business to sell them. if you put the lamp and the lense behind the same glass, the range is limited. i extend the range of my cameras with these, up to about 300 or so feet. being in a forest, i cant get better range.they are 110, but could be powered with solar and a battery, 12V 1amp, so the distance to set them is up to you. while you can see a red glow if you look at them, the light is invisible to the human eye.i will be buying more, they work very well.

Excellent Infrared light
The light works so well that I purchased a second one for a different area. Plenty of wide angle illumination for my security cameras. Comes with a fairly long cord to reach a nearby outlet. I like the fact that the built in photocell turns the unit off automatically during the day saving energy and increasing the longevity of the leds.
