Potential lifesaver, but also suffers from repetition and shocking omissions
It is hard to give a negative review to a book that contains information that will save lives, once it gets into the hands of those who need it. The book, however, is less useful for a reader who is already up-to-date on the latest thyroid information and is maintaining optimal thyroid levels. Also, if you take a look at the table of contents, you will see that there are really only two chapters relevant to each reader. The chapters are divided by the particular thyroid disorder that one has, and some of the info in those two chapters is repetitive (at least it was for the hashimoto's chapters). I read the book - or rather, the portions of it relative to me - in about 30 minutes. If someone is pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant, or going through the postpartum period and dealing with a medical service provider who is not well-versed when it comes to thyroid issues, then this book will be very helpful for that person. I was disappointed that there was almost no information on how thyroid issues affect the birth process itself - I was very much hoping for this, as I am working to put together a birth plan that will be optimal in light of my thyroid issues and my OBGYN (recently fired) just wasn't "getting it". I have a wonderful integrative medicine doctor who totally "gets it", but unfortunately it is beyond the scope of his practice to remove this baby from my body, so I need to find someone else to do so. It would have helped me so much if this book would have tackled the subject of the various labor & delivery (surgical and non) options that are out there from the perspective of those with a thyroid disorder - that is really what I wanted from this book. The book, however, jumped straight from pregnancy to the postpartum period, barely acknowledging that something pretty important happens in between! Admittedly, I read only the chapters that appear to apply to me, but I also read the index. The index makes no mention of any of the childbirth topics that one might want to have covered in a book like this. I will read the book cover to cover soon, but potential buyers should note that the book omits some subjects that are very relevant to the subject matter that it does cover. The book does remind the reader to bring one's own thyroid meds to the hospital, which tip is pretty much worth the price of the book in any event, given that the common advice is not to bring your meds to the hospital (since the hospital will insist on giving you their $100 Tylenol, etc., in any event). It is doubtful that the hospital will have any effective thyroid meds on hand, and receiving the horrid synthetics during the days when one is most in need of appropriate thyroid meds is one nightmare scenario that this book has helped me to avoid.

MUST have book for anyone with thyroid issue trying to conceive!
This book was written specifically for women, it is perfect for those TTC or pregnant. It goes over all tests you need to get done, what the lab ranges should be, there are tons of great doctors quoted (who are still seeing patients, if anyone is interested!), and I am so grateful for the resources. I had no idea the TSH ranges for fertility are different than the general population, you need "optimal levels" to maintain a pregnancy not just what's considered normal by the medical associations. I had a miscarriage and realized only after the fact that my thyroid levels took a dive just beforehand, which my doctor never talked about.

More than just a "how to" during pregnancy ... helpful guide for a woman's life from so many angles
From a father's perspective ... my wife got very tired during her pregnancy and would fall asleep in the strangest of places. She miscarried and it was a shock and tragedy for the two of us (and our little boy who was so excited to have a baby brother). I gained a great deal learning from this author and I recommend this book to fathers, husbands / partners of hypothyroid women and mothers. It provided me with insight into the science of what was happening to my wife and I was able to help her to identify symptoms that she did not even realize were a part of this disease such as thinning hair (and what to do about it). This book provides such a wide range of important life considerations and is so much more than a "how to" from a pregnancy angle. So much here to help a woman before, during, and after pregnancy ... with living and not just coping with ... but thriving with this condition. I purchased several copies and gave them to friends known to me who suffer from this disease. It's so surprising to know just how many people suffer in silence.

The ultimate guide for women with thyroid issues!
I truly can't praise those book highly enough. The information these authors packed in is more insightful than anything I've gained in my years of managing my Hashimoto's and working with an endocrinologist and fertility specialist. I have only read through the pre-conception sections so far (as that's where I am in this part of the journey), and the wealth of medical and practical insight they shared is truly invaluable. If you have any range of thyroid disorder ( or suspect you do) and want a healthy pregnancy where you are informed and prepared, this is your book!

Good info
There is so much in here that endocrinologists really don't tell you (and seems like they don't know). There's a lot to the human body we don't yet understand fully and the thyroid and everything it affects is one of them. This is a good book for those looking to take charge of their health if they feel their doctors just aren't listening.

Pretty good
This book was very informative but some of the info contradicts what your obgyn tells you/wants you to do. I think it is more geared towards someone who has had trouble getting pregnant or had miscarriages and their doctor is failing them. If not it makes you very fearful of having a miscarriage due to your thyroid. That being said I'm still happy I got this book so I can be my own health advocate and speak up if my obgyn is not being too attentive to my TSH T3 T4 levels.

Good Book
This is a good book with a lot of information. The only issue is that the information repeats itself a lot. I suggest going to the table of contents and then skipping to the section that applies to you. The planning sections seem to be useful for some kinds of people but not for me. In my opinion the planning section beefed up the page count in the book and was kind of "fluff" material.

Excellent resource
This book is incredible and I don't know why it doesn't have more reviews! It is very in-depth. I am a practitioner and I read it for research. However I'd recommend it to any woman who has or suspects thyroid disease and plans to get pregnant. It can save you a lot of heart break, as the cost of not knowing some of these things can result in miscarriage or stillbirth. My one mixed review is that the authors tend to look at one point from the lens of multiple sources before drawing a conclusion. This gives you a thorough understanding but adds length to the book.

Took forever
Took honestly forever to ship. When I got the book it felt like surprise mail as so much time had elapsed (about a month). I cannot attest to the information within yet as I have had trouble after reading the introduction as it hit too close to home (I cried like a baby)
