Q: One of these just arrived for my Canyon, is it normal to be double bagged and covered in oil?

When I received my VVT it was not covered in oil. I assume the unit that was delivered to you was previously installed or used in testing.

Q: What level of delco quality is this? is it advantage, professional or oem?

It's the quality that works. Good grief I've heard it all now.

Q: Is this the upgraded part with the retaining springs (as shown in the photo)?

Not mine....I don't think its genuine. Looks like Chinese garbage.
