Great Sponge Filter.
I bought the smaller size. It creates a medium to gentle flow through my 105litre tank which is what I wanted for the fish and the plants seem to be doing good/ok. Water parameters have been very stable with 13 neons and a Betta. (Update: fairly stable with 14 neons, Betta, 5 Otos, 4 Neocaridina, 5 snails in my mostly planted tank) The sponges clog up and I need to clean alternate sponges about every 10 days to keep the water flow up. So the same sponge will be cleaned about every 20 days. I left both sponges for a couple week at the beginning and the out flow nearly turned into a trickle. It cleans the water nicely but obviously I have some debris build up at the opposite end of the tank that I can either find another filter for or just Vac it out when I do a water change. I think the suction is good for the size of the motor. It's also very quiet, the loudest part is the water flowing into the tank as my outlet head is above water. The video I've attached is during a water change, after I've cleaned a sponge. Update: after four and half months the flow had slowed significantly and it couldn't have been due to the sponges. I took it out, cleaned the pipes even though they were quite clear other than just a slime build up. (Don't clean the ceramic balls) Then I connected it all back up, plugged it in and it stopped working. It wasn't broken as I could feel the motor vibrating so I contacted the sellers to which they said I should clean the motor aswell. Here's how to clean the motor: I managed to open the motors bottom lid with effort, then a plastic cover lifts off showing the rotor and water channel. Pull out the rotor, clean the area and pop everything back togethor. For some reason I had to tap the motor downward for the rotor to start spinning again! And now it's nearly like new.

Itโs quite and cleans very well.
I have got two of these in two different tanks with axolotlโs and we have been using them for nearly 6 months. And I have just grout a third one. Iโm gonna give it five due to the fact that he works extremely well better than an air pump due to the fact that they are very loud and can be distracting if you if work in the same room as them. Itโs easy to set up and use. There is just one thing that could be better and that is that one of them sometimes cuts out used to cut out a lot when we first got it but seems to cut out when I do a water change which means I have to take the device apart spin the motor and put it back together. But other than that, itโs probably one of the best filters Iโve used.

It's ok
An ok filter easy to assemble, easy to clean, appears to keep aquarium clear but the pressure drops rather quickly you need to keep wiping off and squeezing out the sponges to maintain good flow, good for a fry tank or ones with shrimp as one get sucked up plus if you have shrimp they'll probably help keep the sponges clean .

2 faulty filters within a few months
Short review - works well but stops working unexpectedly within a month. Longer review - Originally I said this was a fantastic filter but I change my opinion. February, after having the filter little over a month, it died after a power cut. When this happened we tried changing the fuse, switching the plug outlet and even the extension lead but to no avail. The whole system just stopped working. Maybe it was due to the power cuts we had but my partners filters been going strong for aprox a year without any issues so it boils down to the product. Despite this, I bought it again. Assuming the power cuts were the issue. I took extra care in turning the switch off before unplugging it this time around incase it broke again. Unfortunately after a month of having the filter running in a nursery tank, i woke up one morning to it not working at all. I gave the benefit of the doubt before which is why I bought another, but not again. there just seems to be an issue with the filter itself. My interpet one and my partners filter is still going strong with no issues. It boils down to the product. Again, Amazon very helpful with helping me with the return and refund procedure.

Lasted 4 months to the day even after thorough maintenance including impeller.
Excellent at first, took a bit of maintenance as the fine sponges get clogged quickly. Took apart twice (including impeller) as struggling to get it working again. Now after 4 months itโs completely broken. Impeller will not start up, no trapped bubbles or anything. Product just doesnโt last long sadly. Wonโt buy again.

Super quiet
This thing is quiet. Oh, did I mention, it's QUIET ! My goodness, you can virtually not hear it. OK, admittedly its a really low wattage motor, and its pretty low flow, but thats not a problem, because that is all thats needed. It produces ample flow for filtration using the filter media involved. Absolutely perfect for a Betta tank, where you are trying to keep flow to a minimum anyway. The whole thing seems reasonably robustly made - I certainly expect the plastics to last a few years so long as I don't manhandle it too roughly. The motor is in a sealed unit, so there will be no option to open it up for any maintenance but in my experience, if they work when they reach you, these types of motors go on for years. If it dies, I'll just buy another. So, it includes 2 x decent sponges (plus 2 x spares) and a small amount of a ceramic bioball media, which sits in the housing below the sponge filter intake. IMO, its a pretty neat and tidy design. I am certainly impressed with this, and for the price its an absolute winner.

I really like this pump, this is an update after 3 months of use. Filters work great and really easy to clean, I love the adjustable height of the pump return head as it makes a great waterfall that the fish love when I lift the lid an raise it higher peaceful water sound took an the fish specially the guppies love swimming under it

Works really well
This is a really good product and I'm glad I decided to purchase it. Needed to increase my biological filtration and this was the perfect answer. It has a good lift of water for such a small pump and is more than adequate to do the job. The pump is completely quiet and the water outlet is gentle and causes little disturbance. It has worked well since being installed and the filters are simple and easy to clean. I am really pleased with the results of this filter, it looks unobtrusive in the aquarium and having two spare filter sponges included is a bonus. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this filter for the small to medium aquarium, it has certainly made a difference to the quality of the water in my aquarium.

Does not work
Useless, does not start on its own. Have to several time lift it above water for it to work. Itโs more a pain rather than a benefit. And itโs so expensive. After several attempts to make it work, it works for a short time and stops again. I have to waste my time sitting with it and lifting above water multiple times to make it work. Throwing it away.
