Is this made in China?

Is it strong enough to resist crushing? Thanks!

We stand by the quality of our product, but sometimes due to the fragile nature of porcelain the mortar might become compromised during the shipping process and that sounds like what happened in your case. How many ounces does it hold? Approximation is fine...cup, half cup, etc.

How much does it weigh?

From a pretty good scale but not precise it’s slightly less than 1.4 lb. it is very sturdy and stable. I use it every day to grind pills for wife who has ALS. It is a great product. I would recommend it to everyone.
