Just used this for a week at the NJ beaches. It worked great, very easy to put in the sand and it holds tight. It is all metal so is sturdy. I don't know if it will rust eventually but looks like strong powder coat paint. I wish the design could feature fold down handles because they stick out of the umbrella bag. It is heavier than the plastic Ammsun model that is $2 cheaper. I did not try that one, but it got good reviews too. I went with the metal one which I perceive would hold better but I did not test the plastic one. If weight is an issue carrying it, I would try the plastic one.

It works good in the sand

I had my last one (a different brand) for about 8 years until it finally rusted and broke apart. This new beach umbrella stand is a much heavier build. Has a nice powder coat finish and has a quality finish quality. I anticipate this one lasting for many years.

Ticket to the beach inserted it in the sand, it was easy to twist it into the sand and was very sturdy to start. As the wind picked up it rocked it back-and-forth and loosened the stand so that it started to fall over. Had to screw it in a little further but again the wind rocks the umbrella which pulls the stand over but it is the best anchor of you so far

Much better than plastic anchor that came with my beach umbrella. The Ammsun anchor I received has the open bottom so I took the advice of other reviewers and inserted my bottom pole into anchor before twisting into sand. This prevents the inside of the anchor from filling with sand during installation and interfering with pole fitting in anchor. Lined up hole in pole with twist bolt on anchor and screwed bolt thru hole to secure pole. Both easily twists into sand and then installed upper umbrella section. Metal tip on anchor screws thru sand, shells and small rocks easily and flat lip on top adds extra support when covered with sand. Nice carry pouch to safely transport and store.

It worked!We have beach umbrellas with built in anchor-screws that work terribly. Removed the built-in ones and now use this product. Very stable. Took a little muscle to put in.

Best sand drilling beach umbrella stand. Metal trumps plastic everytine.

Easy to screw into sand and really holds well in higher winds! I have tried other type and did not work so well.
