The obvious? It’s a candle. It smells good. These guys are asking for a review…and I couldn’t just give the thing five stars and move on. Nope…I’m REQUIRED to write an essay?! Of course they want more than a simple stars rating situation. Here it goes… When I first received the candle…my heart almost beat out of my chest with pure elation. I held back the tears of joy as I tore open the Amazon box. As I ripped into the box…I stopped. I had to take a moment to emotionally prepare myself for the greatness of the NEW Volcano candle. I had wept for days after burning the last bit of my old Volcano candle. The old container had sat there on my desk…empty…cold…gently citrus scented and devoid of the sweet soft wax that glowed so gently from the jar. “WHY?!?!” I cried to the sky. “Why did it have to burn out so soon?!” I had fallen to the floor…collapsing in sadness and regret, knowing that my last precious moments with the old candle were spent watching Tennessee beat Alabama on the SEC network. I’d never forget that precious moment. The light flickered slowly and burned out as the Tennessee Volunteers carried the goal posts down to the Tennessee River. I sat there in my office…watching ESPN…editing audio for Halloween drops on the radio station where I work…melancholy…mourning the loss of my friend…the Capri Blue Volcano Candle. In my sadness…I turned to Amazon and ordered a replacement. So…there I was…opening my replacement candle. I slowly removed the box remnants…delicately pulled out my candle lighter…and gently lit the wick. Tears filled my eyes as I pondered my life choices…my meaning in the great vastness of the universe and the ease of ordering a candle…without stepping one foot inside of a brick and mortar store. This is truly what dreams are made of. Thank you…thank you…thank you. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. My only regret is that I could never repay the joy that this candle has given me. The end.
