Works for cyanotypes - 50w 365nm
Used this lamp to make a uv light box for cyanotype printing without having to rely on sunlight and it works great.I wasn’t sure which option to go for between 50w or 100w but I did a quick test exposing one half of a print for 10 mins and the other for 5 mins from a distance of around 15cm and the print came out the same on both sides. So 50w is plenty powerful to expose a print in 5 mins or less.It came with a UK plug despite the images shown in the listing.

Smaller than expected
I used this light to light up my Sempertex neon balloons and it did light them up fine I just wish it was abit bigger. I did order two so I made it work but would’ve preferred just the one.The wire isn’t that long either, you will probably need to use an extension lead, depending on what you’re using it for.

365nm 50W is great for cyanotypes
I used the 365nm 50W to make a4 cyanotypes.I set it up on an old desk lamp arm about 20cm above the paper.Holding down the paper with a sheet of acrylic I got developing times over 30mins, but I switched to glass and this works much better at around 10mins, even with double-coated paper. My biggest print so far has been a 20x60cm panorama which I exposed from about 30cm and got an evenly exposed print. I think the larger 100W lamp will be the way to go for quick prints bigger than A3.Other reviews complain that it gets hot. Yes, it does, but it's designed to dissipate heat and will cook cyanotypes happily all day if given ventilation. Mounted properly it doesn't even need to be touched.I've also seen complains that it's underpowered, but I've managed to make cyanotypes in under ten minutes so I can't concur. It might be a case of using the wrong material to cover the print during exposure.I'm really pleased with this purchase. It came with a UK plug, was easy to mount safely to avoid touching the hot lamp and the UV-A is relatively safe. And I'm getting really nice cyanotypes at a nice quick rate.

Works But Not How I'd Like It To
This UV light works but for my purpose, it is quite poor compared to my handheld torch when shining on my UV reactive crystals.

so far so good
Bought this to put next to the fish tank on a timer to provide a sterilisation cycle once a day and works perfectly , solidly made

NOT "365nm" or even close
I was looking for a true "blacklight", a UV flood of 365nm or shorter, which is effectively invisible to the human eye, apart from when it reflects from fluorescent surfaces. I already have two hand-held sources of 365nm UV, and they are amazing. I wanted a more powerful flood version.Sadly, what I got instead, was a very nicely made, aluminium and glass flood, complete with UK plug attached - but which, when turned on, emitted a VERY visible lilac/purple light. It would not even show the secret markings in banknotes (which true 365nm UV of course, does).Had I wanted a pink/purple floodlight, I'd have loved this. But it is sadly, TOTALL NOT TRUE UltraViolet, let alone 365nm "black" light. Best guess, 420nm visible violet. So, with regret, a return.
