Perfect fit and works like a charm
Older simplicity riding mower, started was worn and bent and chewed up the starter gear. This is a great replacement with a perfect fit and fired up the mower on the first try! Will update if have any issues down the road but I expect this to work fine for a long while.

Excellent product for the money
This was the easiest part I have had to install on my tractor. Just follow the instructions and have the correct tools ( in my case a Torx driver) and you have a new starter. My 18 year old tractor started first time and has been running for a month problem free.

Works Great!
This is an exact replacement for the OE starter on my Briggs 14.5 OHV riding lawn mower engine. Time will tell how well it holds up, but the difference in starting the mower was immediately noticeable versus the worn out and tired old starter it replaced. The engine starts almost instantly now. So far, I am very happy with the performance of this part!

Perfect fit for Briggs and Stratton V-Twin
As noted in the description, it's a replacement for a Briggs and Stratton starter motor. Yeah, it's not the genuine article and the gear isn't metal. But, for my needs - replacing the starter on an older residential zero-turn mower - it's more than adequate. I'm not expecting this thing to run hundreds of cycles a week in a commercial application. Really, I'm just hoping it'll out-last the remaining life I have on the mower I've got for my home.To that end, it fits and works as expected. The old starter had trouble getting the engine to turn over even once. The battery was new last year and kept on a smart battery charger so it was definitely the starter. Sure enough, once I replaced it - about 20 minutes of my time, fits like the OEM unit - it now fires right up every single time.

JUNK
This starter is JUNK!It didn't even last for six months. The starter doesn't want to engage into the flywheel. My original starter lasted 15 years!Save your money .Buy an original replacement starter.

Quality Starter at a Good Price.
I am very pleased with this starter. It arrived quickly and is identical to the original on my Briggs V Twin engine. I noticed some bad reviews (mostly about this starter not lasting very long) but haven't experienced any issues so far. One thing I might suggest: if your engine has aged to the point where it doesn't turn as easily as it used to, the extra strain might cause premature wear of the starter. That doesn't mean an OEM starter will be any better, since the odds are they are made in the same factory. Most of the time OEM cost is greater due to the name and packaging, not the quality of the part. Bottom line: I can purchase two or three of these starters for the price of one OEM from Briggs. Considering it takes less than five minutes to swap it out, this is by far the best deal for me. Here is one bit of advice that might help you during installation, since so many people seem to have trouble getting access to the right-hand mounting bolt. If the proper bolt was used at the factory you should not need to use a socket. The right-hand bolt is a T-30 TORX and can be easily reached with a TORX driver. The left-hand bolt DOES NOT have a TORX center, so don't get them mixed up when reinstalling. So, from my experience I would suggest you give this starter a try.
