Barbie Basics Model #06 Doll Collection 1.5

Beautiful

This is my first Barbie Basic doll. I really wanted her for the dress. I bought her on ebay for a low price, mib. She is the same size as silkstone barbies (but with a more slender torso), but very lightweight compared to silkstones. I am always afraid of handling silkstones for fear of breaking them, but I am not afraid of breaking the Barbie Basics. I really wanted a doll with curly hair, like the #6 in collection 1, so I tried curling her hair with a curling iron, just as I did with my silkstone. Thank God I only tested a couple strands of hair because it melted the hair instantly. I don't even think the hair touched the curling iron before it melted. When I sat her down, her legs dented in where they meet her pelvis and could not bend entirely. I didn't like her eyes, so I repainted them with larger irises. She looks much better :) So other than the above complaints, I really like this doll. I am buying more Barbie Basics because I love the diversity and quality of them compared to regular barbie dolls. I just wish their legs weren't so unrealistically long and their torso wasn't so unrealistically thin.
