I measure the seat height (top edge) to be approximately 17 7/8" at the front and 17 5/8" at the back. We've used these chairs now several years and they're still in great shape and very sturdy!

What is the maximum weight on these chairs?

I can't tell you exactly because I have no way of weighing them, however I did compare them to a 5 lb. bag of flour, and they are not much heavier. I would estimate them at between 5 and 10 lbs. I am over 65 and I can easily pick one up with one hand. Hope that helps...If you're asking how much weight they can hold, I have no idea - Jake's answer should be helpful here! I can tell you they are well made so I believe what he says!
