Muelhens 4711 After Shave for Men, 3.4 Ounce

This after shave has a mild, fresh scent that doesn’t linger. In addition to alcohol, it contains skin conditioners: water, glycerin, bisbolol, essential oils. Some ingredients that have irritated me in the past (linolool, limonene), do not bother me in this product -- the blend is very good. When applied after shaving, there was an initial stinging from the alcohol, but that sensation disappeared rapidly. It left my skin lightly conditioned and lightly fragranced. The scent is clean and citrusy, not powdery or perfumed and it dissipates after a few hours. Although witch hazel is my preferred after shave splash, this is my second favorite and so far, the only scented after shave I will use.

The stand-out quality of 4711, for me, is that it calms and seals your skin very quickly and cleanly. And the resulting skin conditioning tends to last for a good while without feeling at all stiff, slick or sticky - nor appearing shiny. It's really one of the best aftershaves I've encountered in that regard. The 'burn' is more of a zing and while the scent is a bit confectionary at first ( pink bubblegum ), it settles quickly into more of a barbers talc with citrus and a little vanilla, and is very mild at that. I can see why it has remained popular for so long.

I though the scent was underwhelming for a product that's twice the price of local aftershaves. I'd like to say it'd make a nice gift as well if Amazon didn't place a label sticker right on the glass bottle. I would describe the scent as a mixture of musk, citrus, and cloves, but weaker compared to the aftershaves in the glass bottle figures from decades past, yet still slightly pungent to the nose despite needed a stronger scent. As aftershave, it works just fine, and that's what really counts. I just think it doesn't fully live up to the price. I'd still buy it again at least.

Fresh, clean, neroli scent that is perfect for summer and hot weather. It smells wonderful and if you pair it with the 4711 EDT, you can maximize the scent, albeit it's still a very light fragrance. I would definitely recommend this aftershave!

Smells great, quite bracing. Doesn't last very long, but overall great and reasonably priced.

This scent of this product is too weak. I used to buy this scent in Europe and the scent lasted a fairly long time. I don’t know why in the USA most scents are weak and Lenin lasting. . 4711 is different Germany than here and the price is the same. There is no value in using this product. Take it from an old man.

LOVE this stuff. It is a classic splash, with a bit of sting. But feels great on the skin. Its fragrance is different from any others and stands above them. Cant really describe it...like being at the beach on a breezy summer day. Perfect for anyone who doesn't care for strong, perfumy scents. It is light and refreshing. My wife cannot tolerate most aftershave/colognes, but she loves this one. I only wish that it could last a little longer---it fades fast. So...slather it on.
