Is the reel so heavy that its hard to pull?

No, I hook mine onto a shirt/safety vest and when I extend it to scan my badge it barely pulls on the shirt/safety vest.

Can’t for life of me open either sleeve. Both seem sealed shut on the top. Am I losing it?

Opening is about 1/4” from top. Think of it as a ziplock bag.

Yes it is. I can put all my id information in it I need while working.
