The old throttle slide doesnt match should I get a new cable and slide for it or is that bad for the engine?

You can reuse your cable and top cap if need be just remove the old slide and spring and reinstall the new one the same way

What throttle slide should I use with this carburetor?

Fast shipping and great product

What does the spring do? my cousin bought this for his apollo and it would just idle all the way.

There are three springs. The one under the screw on the side is to adjust the fuel mixture. The spring on the other side behind the black lever is to assist in returning the choke to the default (unchoked) position. The large spring under the top cap is to return the throttle setting to idle. If the ATV will not rise above idle, you need to check to make sure the throttle cable is properly seated in the throttle slide inside the carb, or make sure the throttle cable is not broken.

Will this fit my 2017 tao tao 125cc 4 wheeler
