Has only single tone
It works fairly well, but has only one tone for anything you detect . It would be much easier if it had multiple tones for discrimination.It can locate a quarter in sand at 9-10 inches which is impressive.

Great analog metal detector,,
If you are into digital metal detectors this review is not for you,, For a analog metal detector for the price this detector is very underrated,, I've used it already about three different occasions since I got it and I cannot tell you how great this detector works,,I've gone back to places that I've hunted many times over and this thing was able to still pull out very deep coins,, It has a low frequency around 2 kilohertz which makes it go very deep on copper and silver, the discrimination is spot-on with telling you the trash, small iron versus the coins,, it has a beautiful tone that's modulated to tell you if a coin is deeper,, the recovery speed I would put this up to any 600 plus dollar detector,,with all the electronics Incorporated in the headphones this detector is extremely lightweight the coil is very lightweight you can swing this virtually all day with no effort Also the one 9-volt battery it takes is very economical,,lf you're looking for an analog detector you can't go wrong with this one,,,

Decent little metal detector
I piled about a foot of wood chips over a metal object and it easily detected it. I also like the simple controls.

I purchased this from a different seller. Buyer beware. It is cheaply made and out of the box it did not work. The plastic this is made from is very soft and dents easily. The controls are on the head set so you can't easily adjust and tune the detector. My experience has been that for the same price or just a bit more you can get an American made quality product that offers much more functionality. Think twice and go for the better product.
