Ok
I purchased multiple copies. I was hoping this book would be more focussed on the mystical and miraculous aspects of St. Rita's life...it was very "common" to the boring stuff we hear about in church nowadays. St. Rita is SO much more than what is in this book. It's a nice starter/primer, but I was hoping for more...I will keep looking.

St. Rita is really the Saint of the Impossible
I was familiar with Saint Rita's prayer in my Catholic Prayers book. But I wanted to know more about her and so ordered this little book. The book is not an ordinary book which you can read back to back in one sitting. It is organized into sections comprising 15 Thursdays, each with some aspect of her life history and followed by a prayer. The 15 Thursdays of devotional prayers are arranged so that the last Thursday should precede May 22 which is observed to commemorate the day of her death. I planned to start reading it on the Thursday which began on February 8 and ended on May 17. As the reading progressed, it was tempting to continue reading beyond the current Thursday. But the message not to be lost on the reader is to model one's life after the saint's exemplary life which is obedience. Her obedience resulted in the miracle of the vine. While in the convent she was instructed by her Mother Superior to daily water a piece of dead wood in the convent. An ordinary person will question why water a dead wood and for what purpose. Rita did not question, but dutifully and diligently continued to obey her instruction until the dead wood came to live and sprouted a vine that to this day continues to bear grapes. There are other miracles associated with Saint Rita and she is not called the Saint of the Impossible for nothing. Do not discount the power of prayers. I believe in the power of prayer and constantly pray to her and I am happy to personally witness the power of her intercession in a medical condition. Because of my December 2017 PSA reading, my doctor made an appointment for me with an urologist but I called the urologist's office to cancel it. Instead, I resorted to praying to the Saint of the Impossible. Without this little book I would not have known of the May 22 date. My doctor's office notified me for the May 17 five-week followup PSA lab work. I started a novena prayer to St. Rita two days before my lab date and I was to see my doctor on May 24 for the reading.I experienced something that convinced me that my pray was answered. While at my novena prayer on the Saturday and the Monday preceding the May 22 date, I definitely perceived the smell of rose. The smell of rose is usually associated with the Saint's answer to a prayer. Then came the day of my doctor's appointment. I sat unperturbed when my doctor walked in and announced that my PSA reading had gone down! What a joy that a miracle from St. Rita was confirmed by lab result! This was the second time in my life that I have witnessed the power of God through prayers.Buy the book, read it and try to model your life after the good saint. If you take to heart what you have learned from this book, you will become a better person. Pray to her in difficult situations because Christ has vouchsafed to grant her request for anything.

Beautiful Prayers to Pray Anytime
Love this book! I found this book at a thrift store initially just at the right time to start the Thursday prayers before St. Rita’s Feast Day. The prayers are beautiful and fitting for anytime so I bought a couple extra to give to others! It’s nice to learn about the Saints and to utilize their intercession. It helps us to pray better.

A Lovely Devotional
I gave this as a gift to a friend who introduced me to the life of St. Rita. My friend has many books on the Saint, so I was delighted to learn that she did not yet have this one. It is a lovely little devotional that explains a bit of her life as well as each of the prayers for the 15 weeks leading up to her Feast Day-May, 22nd. The back has a mass for St. Rita-who is known as the Saint to pray to during times that feel Impossible. Her life bears witness to this and I feel comfort each time I think of her. Wonderful little book for yourself or as a gift.
