I bought this with the intention of having it permanently protect a high voltage cord in a high traffic area. It has served its purpose so well that I forgot it even existed. I have never once tripped over it and it stays in place very well. It is extremely easy to install.

I needed a means of protecting cables running across my office floor (from wall to desk)... this is great... it's flexible and hugs the floor (the rubber isn't so stiff that it curls and lifts off the floor), and it has ridges on the underside that keep it from 'scooching' across the carpet (so it stays put -- without needed gaffer's tape or such). It's length is just under 6' and I considered cutting it into two pieces to use in two separate areas. The channel is large enough to contain 3 ethernet cables and 1 or 2 power cords (e.g. power bar cables). There are also 'lips' that keep the cables inside when you lift it up for vacuuming or such.

Make sure you do your research, most of these cord protectors are not protecting the cords. They are at best cable organizers because they are either soft rubber, silicone, or some other weak material. I needed a cord protector that can cover a ethernet and HDMI cable. These cables absolutely can not have any pinching force put on them without major issues happening. I am trying to protect them from an office chair that has the standard split wheels that are very good at applying a lot of pressure into a very small area. I bought this because it seemed to be the best choice at being rigid, but it is not. I can see this being enough for foot traffic but that would easily be its limit. It has some stiff resistance in the walls of the center cavity, but almost none on the bottom and very little from the top. I run my office chair over this and the cables are toast. It seems that the only thing that might work are the solid PVC floor protectors made for cars, and that is overkill for a room setting. So I guess my lesson is if it ships rolled up its not going to work.
