I had a problem with my two year old boxer jumping the fence. I was researchIng wired dog fences when I came across these plastic spike strips. (I have used wired fences in the past with other dogs and a wireless fence system wasn't an option due to logistics. There always seemed to be an issue of some kind with wire connection/signal strength and with collars even though we installed the fence exactly by the directions. I expected a more reliable system from such an expensive product.) I decided to give the spike strips a whirl and purchased two boxes. I have a Pickett fence. The spike strips were the perfect width to lay across the top support board. This board Is located on the inside of the fence near the top. I was able to secure the strips with strong zip ties instead of nails or screws which causes permanent damage to the fence. The spike strips were very easy to install and aren't really noticeable at all from the outside of the fence.They work wonderfully! When my dog put his paws on the board to jump over the fence, the spikes caused enough discomfort that he immediately stopped. The spikes are pointed and rigid enough to cause discomfort but not enough to cause harm to his paws or injure him. A few weeks have passed and he hasn't jumped the fence since installation. I am very pleased and highly recommend this product.

We used these to stop our dog from getting on top of our cinderblock wall. They are much sharper then they appear in the pictures. Easy to install. Very effective. Size is very east to adjust, each precut section has perforated section that can be broke down smaller to make fitting them in a small area easy!

We live next to a creek. I bought this product to stop squirrels, possums, and raccoons from running up and down our fence. It’s been a few weeks since I installed them. It has ‘not’ stopped the birds, squirrels or possums from going right over them. Although I don’t mind the birds. The best way I can describe the effects is that it slows down the squirrels. Some stop at the edge. Then if they really need to cross it they will. This product does not seem to have an any effect on possums or cats. They go right over it. The jury is still out on raccoons and skunks which are the most damaging to our yard. Haven’t seen these critters around for a few months.Update: It’s been a few months since we installed these. I’ve updated my rating from 2 stars down to 1. This product has zero effect on squirrels which is why I bought it in the first place. The squirrels now run over the spikes with impunity. They adapted! It also never affected the birds which wasn’t a concern of mine.

So far,the bird spikes arrived promptly and well packaged. They are a reasonable height,do not stick up too far as to be an eyesore but look to be adequate enough to make it difficult and uncomfortable for pigeons( our main concern) to be able to stand on.The installation of the bird spikes onto my flat balcony railing was quite easily done by using 14 inch black plastic zip ties,available on Amazon at about $6 for a hundred.So far,I have not observed any pigeons or other birds roosting on my railings nor any "evidence" of a visit.They look to be quite durable and I would expect them to last for a while,as the only likely source of deterioration should be U-V light. I would hope that the plastic of which the spikes are made contains some U-V protectant, but time will be the best judge of this,as well as the U-V resistance of the zip-ties, as well.Depending on the outside temperature when you install the spikes,if you use zip-ties,there may be a very small amount of loosening of the ties due to simple thermal expansion,but this is easily compensated for by just tightening the zip ties another "click" or so.I will update my review to report any unforeseen problems if they arise,as well as my opinion of the efficacy of these spikes over time.They look like they might do the job,so far...again,only time will tell.My location is about 4 miles N of the GW Bridge in NYC, 15 stories above the ground,facing the Hudson River (less than a half mile or so away). I do see seagulls sometimes but the main problem here at my hi-rise is pigeons.

Das ging den Winter über auf unserem Balkon auch gut, jetzt im Frühjahr hat die hiesige Taubenpopulation aber ebenfalls das Futterhaus entdeckt und ist regelmäßig während unserer Abwesenheiten auf dem Balkongeländer gelandet und hat dort die üblichen Verunreinigungen hinterlassen. Die Spikes sind optisch sehr dezent, aber sehr spitz und könne in 10cm-Abständen durch einfaches Abbrechen an Sollbruchstellen größentechnisch angepasst werden. Die kleineren Singvögel fliegen unseren Balkon weiterhin an und können sogar auf den gesicherten Geländer landen, die großen Tauben aber nicht mehr.Damit für uns perfekt.

These are ideal and so easy to attach to the fence they can also be divided into three sections. They also seem to be keeping the cats away which cause my dog to bark. Thank goodness a super product

Posé sur un muret pour "dissuader" les importuns.Pose simple par vissage car de nombreux trous sont disponibles sur chaque élément.Une certaine souplesse permet d'adapter chaque élément aux éventuelles irrégularités du support.Correspond parfaitement à ce que je chaerchais.Pas de cinquième étoile car la pose collée ne peut se faire efficacement, les cônes étant creux la surface de collage est extrêmement réduite.
