A good everyday pocket knife
I grew up almost always having a pocket knife with me at all times. Although I went through periods when I thought it was a good idea to carry pocket knives with blades that are 5 inches or longer, over the years I realized that a small knife is all you need most of the time and and is much more convenient to carry. The Buck Metro is a nice, small knife and bottle opener in one. This is without a doubt my favorite key chain knife and is with me all the time. Sure, it's not meant as a camping and survival knife and it certainly isn't going to be helpful in Rambo-style knife fights, but it's the perfect little pocket knife for average people who go about their lives and sometimes need a knife to open a box or cut a loose thread, etc. The fact it has a built-in bottle opener is also a nice plus.

Totally a great little keychain knife!
Made in USA, 420hc stainless steel that comes from the factory sharp & holds an edge well, easy open/close, bottle cap opener always handy when knife kept on a keychain, tough little bugger with tight assembly (well done), unique in design, just plain quality overall... Purchased this as backup for one I've had for a while now, and wanted to make sure I don't miss the chance at another, since I believe they may have temporarily/or permanently discontinued them. Great little tool, which is big on use :-)

Easily Pocketable
This is a useful little knife that is straightforwardly pocketable. The sharp blade can be easily opened with one hand and, with little effort, be closed with one hand as well. I am pleased with my purchase and carry it full time. However, it must be said that as a bottle opener it should be used only in the case of dire emergency. Getting the cap off a bottle, in my experience, requires several attempts. The Metro just can not get a full grip on the cap and tends to slip off endangering one's fingers. Opening can not be done in one motion. It will get the top off, but it is not efficient. So, if you want a handy, uniquely shaped knife this is a good buy. If you intend to sit on the beach and open bottles of your favorite beverage, you had best look elsewhere.

One Star
Too small for any use.

Good knife but too big and heavy for a keychain knife
I really wanted to love this knife. It looks so cute and small in the pictures. Don't get me wrong - I like the knife but can't love it. As others have said the bottle opener is next to useless. Either make it a little bigger or just remove it to make a smaller knife. If I am in a bad enough pinch to use this I could just as soon use the edge of a counter to open a bottle. I bought it to carry on my keyring but found the it too bulky and too heavy for comfortable carry. On the plus side it seems to be a very well made knife, I like the blade itself and I think it could serve many years as a simple pocket knife.

Handy Little Thing
Out the box, 3 things I noticed about this pocket knife is that it has a nice weight, it doesn't feel cheap, amd the finish is really good. The blade is small and good for quick, light work. Completely what I was looking for. So if you're looking to do heavy work with this knife, you might want to look elsewhere. The bottle opener is just that, it does the job needed.Update July 14, 2014:Still have the same pocket knife I purchased 3 years ago and it's lasted fine with, of course, only sharpening needed.

Too big for what it is
It's a great little design for this knife, but it's just too big. It's almost two inches wide (to fit the bottle opener) and 2.5 inches long. The blade is barely an inch (not a complaint--that's what I wanted). This is a knife meant for someone who wants just a short blade, who doesn't want to be the kind of person who carries a pocket knife. But the design does't work. The cool factor doesn't make up for the bulk and weight. It is well made. This is clearly a Buck, but that's not enough here. I gave mine away and bought the Buck 325 Colleague.

super handy
The knife, which is REALLY SHARP, comes out so easily, the hole in the side really helps. I can take the knife out one handed, using just my thumb! I also don't feel weird carrying it on my keychain because it just looks like a bottle opener. I love it, I'm a young female traveler and I really appreciate how useful and portable this is.
