So so simple to set up and use
I love these machines - we had the little one of these for a while but we needed something that can be used without staff having an app on their phone. This literally goes all over the place and we haven't had a problem with it yet. Soooo simple to use and set up. Connection speed seems to be really good so far but not used it anywhere there was no internet. It's lightweight and easily fits in your hand. Had no problems setting it up with the app and pays seamlessly into the bank account.

Good value for money, good product
I would recommend this machine to anybody that’s starting up their own business. It is fantastic.

Card reader service no surprises
card reader easy to set up, what to expect during set up could have been a clearer and what to expect after stating to use frequency of reports and frequency of funds being transferred in a nominated account. A simple diagram of what the button on the reader do. All straight forward after going through the set up process but advance examples would have helped and saved time. No comment about customer service as no need yet, but UK based in London hopefully should not be a problem

NO STARS would be too many
What an absolute pile of c**p!Purchased in November 2021 for the Christmas markets. Set up was simple enough, on the device itself and on desktop/app where you manage your account.First outing it completely failed me, it was so slow it was embarrassing. I had queues of customers wanting to pay, so I had to use my steady old faithful izettle, and I was doing about 2,5 transactions on the zettle to 1 on the sumup. Not really fit for purpose. I contacted support - I use that word loosely, all you get is a bot, its really hard to get in touch with a human. I put in a request for actual human support, it took exactly 1 month and 5 days to get a standard email reply.I took a couple of months off after Christmas and started with the markets again in March, thinking the SUMUP would be ok in not so busy scenarios, also its a big plus to be able to give a receipt. On my first outing transaction after transaction failed. So I tested some small transactions with my own debit card, out of 4 tests only 2 went through. HOWEVER I got notified that I had spent money with FR***IES PROPERTY! Not the name of my business. Even though Bluetooth and Wifi was off and it was on its standalone 3G. Needless to say I did not use it the rest of the day, which was just as well as the battery died after a couple of hours.When I got home I checked all my device settings, checked account settings, app settings ...all correct ... did another test and still another business name. I really conclude now that I have been sent someones return, the battery life is non existent. I did not notice at the Christmas markets as I had an electricity supply. I tried to access support, finally gort an email from SUMUP - dont get excited - just another standard reply.Finally I took it out last weekend, one last chance ... I put it on charge overnight. Turned it on when I got to market and it died within 5 minutes. Took it home, and it simply wont charge.A huge thanks to Amazon, who believed my tale of woe and refunded me. If it was up to SUM UP I would still be typing away to the bot, I WANT A REFUND, MONEY BACK, YES I NEED HUMAN INTERVENTION!!Do yourself a favour and AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! I will go back to handwritten receipts where required.

Great little machine!
I have 3 of these now for my small business and might be getting a 4th!! They are just what I needed as it doesn’t need to be connected to a phone or iPad etc so gives you much more freedom. All that’s needed is a plug socket and Wi-Fi. It also gives receipts so looks more professional. Very easy to use too. Well worth the money.

Great little machine.
This little machine will double your turnover.It operates without Wi-Fi so you can use it anywhere.It’s simple for even the most non tech person to use, perhaps need a bit of help setting it upPayments come through quickly and you can see all transactions on your phone.This is the model you need if you haven’t got Wi-Fi available.A life changer.

Ok, so this hardware seems like a good deal compared to others on offer but straight out of the box it has me worried.0 battery out of the box, had it on charge for over 1 hour and still 0% battery... thats odd. then it started going up from 1% to 100%. Turned it off over night and the next morning it was at 70% with no use. Odd.When I put it into stand by mode or OFF, it makes a very strange clicking noise. put me right off it because that is odd.on a plus it does have a USB-C charging port not the ancient Micro-USB, but this leads me to add - WHY is the charging port on the front of the dock, I know the printer is on the back but the front doesn't look like a good idea.

The hardware is better than the service
This is the second time I've purchased a Sumup device for my business. I actually love the device itself. So fast to set up and take payments right away. It feels lovely - the buttons are soft and the whole thing feels like butter. It's even a tiny touch screen and the printer just really tops off a professional look and feel.However, just keep in mind that the service provider is not tip top. They are hard to get a hold of and when you do you're going up against the script. On occasion the servers go down and this can leave you high and dry (be it for 10 minutes or 2 hours). For this I actually have a spare cheap device with another company so I can take card payments when this happens.For me it's a double edged sword. I love the device enough to put up with the service......and hope that the device keeps up enough that I don't even need the service!!! It's a simple trade off and having a back up keeps the piece of mind.
