I bought this, LOVED it! It is all one piece of glass. When I bought it, our temps were upper 70s-80s. It got cold overnight and went down to low 50s. In the room where I keep this, it is especially cold and sits on a cold metal table. When I work up early this morning to work at my desk, I heard the sound of glass cracking! Checked out my hourglass, nothing weird. Then I turned it over to start it, and the sand did not come through to the other side. It made some more noises. Later I came back, and it has a crack in the bottom! Its a great hourglass, but the glass is very thin. I think the temperature change and the pressure inside the hourglass was too much for how thin the glass is and it cracked. Sad day.

Review said this is a Pyrex type material. It is nothing of the such. I don’t think I’ve ever seen glass this thin and cheap. I Picked it up out of the container and it was so thin it literally cracked in my hand before I even had it out of the box.Pitiful waste of money

"7.5 inch tall..." was probably meant. The actual sand is a glittery gold color that looks much nicer than it does online. Order placed 1/2/17, sand timer arrived 15 days later in Virginia. Mine times out at 30' 15". Though not advertised as such, it demonstrates the local gravitational constant and angle of repose. Really cool. Definitely my favorite desk toy.

I have this on my desk at work. It’s very cute. Everyone comments on it & comes just to turn it over. The sand has a little sparkle to it. It wish it had more sparkle but I still really like it. It’s about 30 minutes & 11 seconds. One of my coworkers timed it lol.

Much lighter than it looks in the pictures. Sand it’s so golden & pretty. And most importantly it is pretty accurate. I timed it & it stopped at 30 min, 3 seconds.

This accent piece looks great on my console table. Great buy. The shimmery gold sand is very pretty.

This has been very helpful for my clients therapy sessions ! It gives them an idea of how much time we have left in the session.

Very little sand inside relative to volume. So looks mostly like an empty glass bottle instead of what I think of as an hourglass with lots of sand showing.
