My mouse fighting adventure started one night when my wife and a mouse accidentally startled each other in the kitchen. (you can see the mouse and make it move if you toggle between the two included pics) Naturally, my wife screamed and the mouse ran across the kitchen floor and straight under the dishwasher. That evening I spent hours researching traps of all sorts. The reviews for mouse traps were badly mixed so it was difficult to make a quick decision. That’s when I came across these Jaws traps. I’m a pretty skeptical person. But, right away I was impressed with the modern design of the traps. I liked that the traps were set simply by pulling back a lever, which all but eliminated the risk of accidentally having the trap smash a finger, like older traps are notorious for doing. I was also impressed with the safety features. The traps have a sticker across the lever that makes it easy to see when the trap is armed and when its safe to handle. I discovered that there are even trap enclosures available from the company at an extra cost, that make it impossible for cats and dogs and other pets to spring them. I really appreciate that. Without too much hesitation, I decided to give them a try. I ordered a 12 pack of Jaws Traps and they arrived quickly. I was pleased with the quality. After testing them I could tell immediately that they would be more than powerful enough to do the job. Later that evening I set the traps under my sink. Exactly two hours later, I heard the sharp snap of the trap closing shut. And then dead silence. After a few minutes I inspected the traps and found that the trap had successfully done its job. Disposing of the mouse was simple and neat. I felt completely satisfied with the performance of the traps. And happy about my decision to buy them. In my option, based on my own personal experience using them, I consider these Jaws mouse traps to be far superior in every way to older mouse traps I have used in the past, This is due largely to the fact that Unlike older traps that place the bait directly on top of the trigger mechanism making it possible for the bait to be stolen. (Which is a common frustrating problem with older style traps.) These Jaws traps have a superior trigger mechanism design which places the bait below the trigger. Which makes it very difficult, if not impossible for a mouse to steal the bait without causing the trap to trigger. I am very happy with these traps. And plan to use them from here on out. Before I end my review (which I seldom write unless I feel the product is particularly exceptional) I have a few tips on catching mice, I hope you will find useful: Tip #1 Set your traps in the right place. The best place to set your traps is wherever you find mouse droppings. The droppings look like tiny black specks. Once you find it’s dropping you can be sure that it will visit that area again. And your traps will be there waiting for it. 2. Set multiple traps. You want to bring out your big guns right off the bat. Even if you think that you only have one mouse. Setting all of your traps at once dramatically increases your odds of trapping your mouse quickly. 3. Use the right bait. Mice eat anything. So, technically you can use any bait you want. But the item that most people agree is a mouse’s favorite food is peanut butter. I personally used Reese’s peanut butter cups in all of my traps. I find that I can avoid any clean up, if I just cut a small piece from a Reese’s peanut butter cup and drop it into the traps bait holder. Rather than trying to spoon or squirt sticky, messy peanut butter into the bait holder. 4. Finally, find out how they're getting in your home and seal those holes off with some spray foam. The better mousetrap. In my seventies, tried many traps over the years and these seem to work the best for me. Good, positive setting mode when latching and doesn't misfire when laying out. If the mice are small/light enough then it may not trip...oh well. Set them inside my two-vehicle engine compartments and they have never misfired while driving around. Even drove to the east and west costs without any trouble. You'll need to screw them down however otherwise if they only catch a leg, they can be dragged off and then good luck finding them. Easy to release the critters, just squeeze the set trigger and they fall right out...breakfast for the Magpies.

Most effective traps, only kind I use! Even catches small mice because they are so sensitive. Super easy to reset as well!

I don't think any mousetrap is 100 percent perfect, but these are pretty close. I have four cats, so mice don't survive inside my house. But they do get in my basement and attic, where my cats don't go. I live in the woods, so I almost always have mice. I don't like to use poison, mainly because of the torture involved, but also, I don't want my cats getting hold of a poisoned mouse. I've tried just about every kind of trap, even catch-and-release. The catch-and-release ones weren't ideal, either, and about half the time, the mouse died inside the trap anyway. But I digress. As far as snap traps, I've tried everything from pretty expensive ones to super-cheap wooden ones. These are a great price, and I like that I was able to buy a pack of 12 traps. I put four of these traps loaded with peanut butter in my basement last night, and this morning, I had two dead mice, one trap that didn't look touched, and one that had the bait stolen. That one had snapped, but no mouse. (Like I said, I don't think any traps are 100 percent effective). In my attic, I put one of these traps plus two of another brand that I happened to have on hand, and when I checked this morning, I had a dead mouse in the Jawz trap, but none in the other two traps (which don't seem to be as sensitive). These are pretty sensitive. It was very easy to dump the mouse out of it without touching the actual mouse. It killed without any blood - I'm assuming it just snaps the neck. It's not a fun task to remove the dead mouse, but unfortunately necessary. I reset the traps and placed them again, and I'm hopeful I'll get another crop of dead mice tonight.

These are the best mouse traps I have ever tried. I don't know what's happened to the old wooden Victor and similar design traps but mice have been just picking them clean lately without setting them off. I had some of these Jawz traps a few years ago but, one way or the other, I lost them over time. I find myself constantly complaining about other mouse traps when I find them each morning picked clean but no mice. So I ordered more of the Jawz traps and those frustrations are now gone. Great things about these traps: 1) I use peanut butter in my traps and I squirt it into the little bowls using a large syringe which is very fast and neat. Because the little bowl for bait is below the pad the mouse has to stand on, the mouse must put it's weight on the pad to get at the bait and that almost always means the trap will snap. With traditional traps, the mouse doesn't have to stand on the trigger. 2) Setting these traps is super-easy. Just pull the handle back and that's it. I think some complain that they are sensitive and may snap when setting them but you can get around that by simply putting a little upward pressure on the trigger pad when setting them. But new traps shouldn't require that. 3) They are super-easy to remove the mouse. Just swing the handle back and the mouse drops out unlike traditional traps where you have to grab the trap wire. With those, I generally used needle nose pliers to open the trap. There's no need for that with these traps. I have 10 traps in my garage. I like to catch mice in the garage before they try to enter the trap. My garage is near my house but not attached to the house. With traditional traps lately, I almost always find each morning that almost all or even all the traps have been picked clean but no trap has been set off. If I'm lucky, I may catch one mouse every few days. Yesterday, I replaced those traps with the Jawz traps and this morning I had three mice and not a single trap had been picked clean. Finally, someone really has designed a better mouse trap!

I set 6 of these traps, using peanut butter as bait; 4 in one room and 2 in different room. After a couple days, nothing in the 4, checked the traps, all 4 were licked clean, like clean! The 2 traps in the different room: caught 1 but barely, it did not kill him instantly (as advertised), he was still alive!!!! His head was partially out of the trap. Poor little guy, he had to suffer for a while. The whole situation was awful. Wish I could return these worthless traps!!!

These traps are hands down the best mouse traps!! They will catch all sizes of mice, no getting away!

These are awesome! I will never buy any other trap. Easy to bait and set. I use these to catch voles. Bait it with 5 or 6 sunflower seeds or a small piece of dried cranberry and those pesky varmints head right for it. The trap is very sensitive and the teeth around the edge of the trap ensure nothing underneath them escapes. I have caught two voles in one trap at the same time on several occasions. Easy to empty and reset. Buy with confidence.

When first bought these traps, was quite impressed. The catch and easy disposal of the voles/mice worked well. However, as fall came, began to notice that the traps had lost their bait, but were still activated. In working with the traps, it became clear that it was quite hard to get them to snap. I will try again in the spring, but may be moving back to the old fashioned wooden kind. Not as clean, but really need the traps to work.
