Heavy duty bark stripper with solid bolted handles. Does the job. Also produces fine shavings, which I use in firelighting when camping.

Other reviews have mentioned that the handles should be angled so your knuckles won't hit the log, but the tool is meant to be held upside-down to the way you'd expect, so your hands are above the log. it's meant for cabin building where the bottom of the logs is concaved to fit better on the log it's stacked on. So, it's not meant for debarking, that's what the flat drawknife is better for. It's the opposite way in the picture because it wouldn't balance on the log the other way to prop it up.I also bought the straight Timber Tuff drawknife, and it came just as dull as this one. Take note that the curved blade is a lot harder to sharpen, and it took me about an hour with a few different files and stones to get it sharp enough to cut well. If you're willing to put the time into sharpening it, then it's worth it.

The pictures are deceptive. I expected this tool to lay flat, and curve on that plane. Instead, it contours to the log. Not exactly what I wanted, but I guess it might still be useful for tapering ends, or something.This shape will be difficult to use on anything larger than a 6 inch diameter log because you'll rip your knuckles open rubbing them against the log. I wouldn't have included this tool in my kit if I had known how it curved.Also, the handles are smaller than fits comfortably in my hands, and I have smallish hands. At least the handles can be replaced easily, but now this tool is going to cost twice as much because of handle replacement.Would not buy again.
