Really found that it did its job

I have purchased four of these in past as I run two of these in a three filter Express Water system with a sediment filter as first filter. This filter completely cleaned up my water. I had a lot of orange rust/iron stains in tub, sinks, appliances, etc. as well as the sulphur smell. We have a deep water well and a lot of minerals in it. The water now has zero smell, zero taste and all staining is gone. This is at our river cabin that we use and also rent. We have had nothing but rave reviews on how great the water from renters. I also think the water feels softer when we shower. Not cheap as I wish it was less, but they seem to last six months no problem and beats running a water softener that will be destroyed in two years with our water condition.

I've purchased over half a dozen of these same filters now, because I thought my water was quite metal heavy, because after a few weeks, I was getting the orange stains in my house. But, it seems in actuality, it's the filters themselves are cheaply made. They do work, for about a few hundred gallons and by that time, they are overloaded and can no longer filter out any other heavy metals. All of the pictures show a copper like substance in the filters, but when you open them, it's actually just a activated carbon like medium throughout and not a spec of any kinetic material. Now, they do work, as I mentioned. After a new filter install, the water is a slight blueish hue to it with a new filter. No orange stains or heavy metal staining in the sinks, toilets, etc. But after a week or two, with a two adult person house only, the deposits start coming back. As you can see in the pictures of these filters opened up, it is NOT what they picture on the listing. I've reached out several times now to Express Water about this and if there's a bad batch of filters or something. It's been two months and not a single response back still. I've now spent over half a thousand dollars on JUST these heavy metal filters. I use their three stage filter system and it works great with the sediment and carbon filters, but these heavy metal filters are sub-standard and overpriced. My water is NOT that heavy, before switching from the scale filters to this one, it would take about a month for copper stains to appear around the house. But with these, it's fine for a few week and then boom, they show up. Which makes me believe that they work initially, become overloaded perhaps to too little kinetic material and then just leaches back into the water supply, plus whatever is already on the incoming water. All I know is, I am NOT getting anywhere close to the 100,000 gallon or 6-12 month expectancy on these filters.
