Can you make the drive bootable on Windows 10 using this adaptor?

That will be dependant on whether or not your motherboard supports booting from PCI-E I have an older Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 and it will allow me to use this as a hard drive, but I cannot boot from it. Be sure to research if your motherboard will let you boot from PCI slots first.

Will this device affect the performance of the nvme ssd? while it affect the read/write speeds?

No. But performance might be limited by the port you use. PCIe3 4x will handle speeds up to 4GB/s. Check your motherboards manual to verify your pcie port version and lanes. Also, some nvme disks gets quite warm and slowdown to compensate

Does this require drivers? it recognizes that something is connected but it doesn't install. installing in an evo 860 m.2 ssd in pcie x16

Is this compatible with a a b+m nvme drive? would it run at nvme speed?

This accepts only a pci-e x4 m.2 drive. If it says SATA anywhere on or in the description of your drive then it will not work. You have to formates SATA m.2 and pci-e m.2 drives they are not compatable with each other or the ports you plug them into.
