Kind of hard to measure but my reading is between 3/4" and 7/8"---works good but not on peppers smaller than that

Yes, I’ve tried to use it for coring zucchini but it bends too easily

I don't know how one goes about making a blooming onion. I would say no to this tool. It scoops out seeds and veins inside small peppers.

Makes preparing jalapeños a breeze

This really changed the game in cutting up jalapeños. It is so easy to core them with this. It fits great in your hand. I don’t use the slicing part as a knife is easier for that. However this beats trying to use a knife to core them or slice them and then pop the seeds out. I love this. It is easy to clean and I even have put it in the dishwasher too.
