I enjoyed what it had to offer me
The LG G5 was my temporary replacement after my Samsung Galaxy S4 died on me without warning. In the 3 weeks or so I used it, I enjoyed what it had to offer me. Having dual cameras is definitely something I enjoy about the G5 and is something Samsung should've implemented in the Galaxy S8. Having the power button double as the fingerprint scanner made for ease of use as far as unlocking went [you can double-tap the screen to wake it up without having to press the button too]. Performance is pretty snappy and apps load and can be switched swiftly enough without noticeable hiccups or slowdowns. The display is lovely and doesn't need to be cranked up to maximum brightness to be eligible, I can use it at about 40% day-to-day and still get by without eye strain or not being able to read what's on screen. I've read reviews about how the battery is subpar or not comparable with the later Galaxy models, and that's simply not true! It may be a 2800 mAH REMOVABLE battery [for those who care about that, as I kind of do] I could watch about an hour's worth of video and the battery will have dropped about 3-4% [at about 40-50% brightness]. Even during heavier video playback, the phone didn't suffer from moderate to heavy heating and can still chug on without the need for a charger a few hours later. Audio from the bottom speaker, despite my initial skepticism, was surprisingly loud and clear, even sitting in a shirt pocket.A lot of people seemed to care about the modular aspect of the G5, and while I personally don't, even without the extra accessories it can perform pretty darn well on its own in most daily usage. But being an unlocked phone, it still sits on Marshmallow 6.0, so you'll have to do without the Nougat update for a while longer, but at least you won't to deal with a lot of carrier bloatware and a splashscreen. [I've seen that the multi-window feature on Nougat is mostly okay, but some native apps won't work with it]The little things I don't really like about the LG series:* No dedicated video player [VLC for Android will do as a good alternative]* Emojis look generic and are difficult to differentiate for some [can be replaced with other manufacturer's emojis with rooting]* Spellcheck and autocorrect can't compare to Samsung* Keyboard is a bit small, so spelling mistakes are prone to happenDespite the little things, the G5 is an excellent performer at about less than half the price of this year's flagship phones, so it's definitely recommended from me!

Dud. Bad refurbishment.
Phone had a couple glitches when I first got it, little annoying things, but overall I liked the phone. Great camera. Two weeks in it died when I was out, but the back button had stopped working about a week after I got it. Wasn't really a problem unless the phone died. Then it did, and made it completely impossible to use. Literally can't turn the phone on. Bad refurbishment, bad phonw.

Otherwise the phone sofar has been good, camera with the 2 lenses is exceptionally good
July 2021 updatedowngrading from 5 stars to 4 stars.Discovered a mechanical design issue / compatibility with after market batteries. Most aftermarket batteries (and may be the original one) swell a little bit before they need to be replaced. That swelling moves out the back plane of the phone away from the electronic contacts. That, in turn, causes the GPS to stop working (because the contacts now are not connecting the GPS antenna to the rest of the electronics).LG tried very hard to keep the phone slim, while allowing replaceable battery. It would be much better if the small battery swell would not cause the electronics failure in this way.On the other hand, if you had an after market battery for a year a so, and it is loosing charge, and then your GPS stops working -- that's your sign to replace the battery.----May 2017, update. Upgrading to 5 stars from 3 stars.LG updated the phone to Android 7 from 6. I am hugely impressed. Normally this does not happen and manufactures want you to buy new phone. LG clearly stands behind their product. An upgrade like this is not a patch, it requires significant development and testing effort. All the functions of the phone also after almost a year of use, are perfect. Glad I got this rather than other brands.--July, 2016.Major problem: even if you have an SD card installed, the LG G5 does not allow you to move apps to SD storage. For apps that rely on large map files (eg GPS apps) this is a major problem, as you will eat lots of space out of the 32GB very quickly. What's disappointing, is that Android Marshmellow 6.0 OS, allows to treat the SD card as part of main internal storage, transparently. However LG decided to disable this option, and does not allow customers to enable it back in any way. Samsung S7 at least lets you move the apps to SD storage.Otherwise the phone sofar has been good, camera with the 2 lenses is exceptionally good.Always-on screen is a bit too dim.Fingerprint scanner works really well.[update aug-19, 2016]: LG G5 bluetooth is really good. First, the range is quite long. at least 30-40 longer than any of my laptops.Second The bluetooth chip on the phone supports APT-X. Which makes senigificant difference in music sound quality if you have APT-X enabled headphones. 3rd, it supports the new APT-X HD (not every qualcom 820 based phone supports this). This APT-X HD paired with APT-X HD headphones (LG sells thouse) -- would make the sound quality, especially from loosless-compress music files (eg FLAC/APE) -- even higher quality and no lag. I do not have APT-X HD headphones, so cannot compare. But listening via APT-X headphones -- the sound quality via LG G5 bluetooth is very very good.

Love it
I love those LG Gx phone, the price is the best and they are really good. On the downside, if you live in Canada, it's a bit harder to setup but if you call your phone company, they will help you. Another downside, there's not really any new Android's update. Unfortunately, I got a bad phone, the GPS broke but I bought an LG G6 and I'm still very happy with LG Gx series phone.
