Son is obsessed with this book!
We are a family of nerds and we love sharing our passion for books, movies, and video games with our children. This is such a cute and fun book! We got it for our youngest's first birthday, he has quickly become his favorite bedtime book. And if he sees it when it's not bedtime, he wants us to read it to him. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to share their love of Lord of the Rings with their little ones.

Mostly positive review
Bought this for our twin baby girls.Actually that's a lie. We bought it for us!But the babies are the excuse :)5 stars because we love the Hobbit theme and the satire of Goodnight Moon. It's enjoyable to read and we laughed a few times.4 stars for the material quality. The pages are thin. The cover was bent upon arrival and not in any expected "new" condition. The drawings are kind of mediocre: kind of a messy style that's not really our style, and some are better than others, but it works.Overall a 4.5 stars, but we like it so we rounded up. Great gift for anyone (of any age, let's be real) who is a fan of Tolkien's works.

So cute
Great way to get them excited about and ease them into reading as they grow and learn about The Hobbit.

Misprint
I gave this to my one year old for his birthday March 1st (Aragorn birthday as well,LOTR fans). Its a cute book. However I Should have read it before hand. It is a misprint with information of how to log into a chase account. I do not have a chase account so sadly this information is unhelpful to me lol. My children on the other hand found it hilarious to read after reading the "goodnight map," page. I could tell they were paying attention when the next page said, "never pay fees to use your credit card..." I'll have to see if I'm still in the replacement period since I buy birthday presents in advance. Hopefully we aren't missing any pages. It's such a short, sweet, rhyming book for little ones. Just don't need information on a Chase account

Not bad, not great.
As a long-time fan of Tolkien and The Hobbit, I was hoping for a little better. This book is cute and sweet, and it captures the spirit of a children's book but I feel it misses the mark as for a faithful matchup against the original source.Let's be honest - the children aren't going to notice it. But the adults will, and the kids may complain once they get exposed to the original a few years down the road. And somebody is gonna have some 'splainin' to do.That said - the artwork is enjoyable and the prose is fair. As far as a product not licensed or affiliated with the Tolkien estate, I guess it's OK. I didn't return it, but knowing what I do now I probably would not have purchased it. Your mileage may vary.

Super Cute!
My husband and I bought a few of these for multiple baby showers since he is a huge Lord of the Rings fan. The artwork and quality of the book are great, and I can guarantee you won’t be buying the same book as someone else if you get it for a baby shower haha. We got many compliments from the couples we got them for

A Must for Lord of the Rings Folk
A whole different approach. That's all I'll say. Just buy it.

Huge disappointment
I’m a huge Tolkien fan and was so excited when I found this book to gift my nephew for his 2nd birthday, but it was a huge disappointment. The book not only has poor literary quality, but also poor illustrations. This could’ve been such an awesome book for Tolkien fans in training, but they definitely dropped the ball on this one. Still on the lookout for any Tolkien based gifts for toddlers if anyone has leads. Save your money on this one.
