This is exactly what it is described as - Xuan paper or 'rice paper' - which is thin, reasonably see-through and very absorbent. This is how it should be for Chinese brush painting and calligraphy. Some people marked it down because they didn't know what the product is and how it is supposed to behave. I'm not sure I'm very fond of the fact that it's cut to size. I think I prefer it in long sheets or rolls, but can't fault it.

I like using this paper for sumi e painting unroll for a practice as you go or cut to size weight on each corner and go for it breathe in move the brush as you breathe out, one brush stroke ink drawings perfect great fun and meditation too and .good value for money

Was a little kinked in transit but mounting should remove the crease.

I use this for gell plate printing and found it works well, the paper stands up to the process reasonably well

The artist I sent then to tells me that the rice paper is not good for ink or watercolour as the paper just goes into holes. They may be useful for other purposes.

It’s bad paper

Embarked on learning Chinese painting and find this is great practice paper. It’s raw and unsized so very absorbent and I find it useful learning how much water to use. Have not been painting this style long so can not comment on quality really- I like it it’s good for practice and will buy more once I have done with it. It’s single layer so quite thin

Bought this to do quick practice Chinese and Japanese artwork on. But decided to use the Chinese reusable writing paper to practice on first. Don’t want to waste paper, ink and paint until I’m Confident using this new medium.

Para trabajos con tinta china

Goed opletten bij druktechnieken dat het papier aan de ruwe zijde bedrukt wordt en vooral niet te lang of nat laten worden, dan valt het uit elkaar. Ik gebruik het o.a. voor monotypes die ik dan weer " verscheur"tot een collage.

Lässt sich bedruckt prima weiterverwenden
