FUN AND DURABLE ENRICHMENT TOY
Pros - it's fun, it's durable, it is moderately easy to fill, it has an adjustable opening to make it easier/more difficult for kibble to fall out depending on your needs. I bought the small and even my 40lb senior dog enjoys it so these can be used by just about any size of dog since they come in two sizes. Cons - little bit harder to clean than the Kong Wobbler which comes apart and is extremely easy to clean. The Small Bob-A-Lot does not separate from the weighted base for lightning quick cleaning/filling. It IS much easier to clean than the Outward Hound dispensing balls, though, so basically in the middle of those two enrichment toys. We love enrichment toys like these and this is another winner. Would just like it to come apart similar to the Kong Wobbler as that one was also more disability friendly when it comes to cleaning/filling. But I love that the Bob-A-Lot has the adjustable food/treat opening. This toy is versatile enough to be used indoors or outdoors. If you have backyard with grass then that can add an extra layer of fun because the yard turns into a giant snuffle mat for the toy to dispense onto as they knock it around. It's also sturdy enough to be used on concrete or hard floors without destroying it. I clean this after every use and think that's best so the oils don't sink into the crevices and cause odors or discoloration.

If you need to distract your dog
My 4-year-old Italian Greyhound can have a LOT of energy at times that I'm exhausted. I'm so happy we tried this toy, because I just put treats in the top (yellow) part, adjust the hole for them to fall into the round part, and adjust the hole size for them to come out of the toy so that it takes a while. Ever since he discovered treat-dispensing toys, they're the only type my dog will play with. Since I can customize the sizes of the holes and treats, he is distracted by this for a long period of time. My dog enjoys it, I appreciate it, but my downstairs neighbors probably wish it never existed. It's definitely got weight to it and when it bounces on the wood floor, it makes a dense thud-- it's built to stay upright, so there's weight balance. My dog loves this toy and has so much fun with it! I bought one to be delivered to my parents' house for when we visit, so we don't have to travel with the extra weight and space. They have their dog play with it, too, because he rips apart everything, no matter how "strong" the toy is, except this one. Worth the money. Resistant to chewing, enjoyable, and is good exercise for doggies.

My pup's favorite toy, finally replaced after several years
Hands down my dog's favorite toy. It keeps him busy, mental stimulation is great, and watching him wobble it around the room never gets old. I had one for a really long time and got so much use out of it. The only reason I ended up replacing it was that kibble crumbs and dust started getting permanently stuck in the inner seam making it tough to get 100% clean. But considering how many hours of use we got out of the first one, it was a no-brainer to just order another. Highly recommend for high-energy pups!

Great feeder toy with one significant drawback
I thought this was a 5 star toy until I left it out in the rain one time. Then it got mold on it. Since I can't see inside it, I couldn't tell if I cleaned it out well enough. If I use bleach, I doubt my dog would use it again. Prior to this happening I wrote this....If you've never tried something like this with your dog, I totally recommend doing it. My dog loves it and I enjoy watching her have fun with it. We have tried three different types of these treat toys, and this is the best. It is challenging enough that she doesnt get the treats out too fast and it adjusts to make it easier or harder, by changing the size of the hole. It's durable, and has survived being rolled around on cement for quite some time. But because it doesnt come apart, I now prefer the one that looks like the planet Saturn, though that one is not as durable and doesnt have the adjustable size of opening. Having used the Bob-a-lot for a year, I think we got our money's worth.

Like it!
My dog is enjoying this toy. I gave it a three because I ordered a small and to me it isn't "small", it is what I think to be more of a large or maybe a medium. The other reason for the three is unless there is a trick I can't find there isn't a way to unscrew it to wash the container inside. I always rinse new products w/hot water, I don't want any plastic particles or factory dust on my dog's treats. Just a thing I have, I wash everything before use. I ran the water through it and it took several days to dry, finally I took the hair dryer to it to get to the inside. It seems it will be a very durable toy and hopefully will last for a very long time. It is nice to see my dog wanting to play w/something besides the ball. Update, after watching my dog play w/Bob-a-Lot today, I have two more observations that hopefully the company will hear. The chief one is that once my dog scoots and bobs the toy around the living room, the toy has moved to too many places where I have to get up and get it, which is annoying. Behind the chair, under the couch etc. A simple fix would be to make the yellow part a softer chew product so the dog could pick it up himself to drag it back out to relocate it so he can keep playing w/it. As a "small" there is no way for my dog to pick it up w/his mouth, he is approximately a forty pound dog. The other thing I noted is that cat hair and floor dust stick to the plastic, which goes back to the not being able to wash and dry the thing w/ease. Not a big deal, but it is a magnet for stuff clinging to it. Eventually bits of treat will leave a film on the inside that will need to be cleaned out. At first I used treats, then I decide to put dry kibble in it after seeing how interested he was in the toy, my dog ignored the kibble once it popped out, so I had to go back to treats. LOL! Finally, I did a blend of tasty treats and his kibble dog food. He really has enjoyed it and I am glad I purchased it. W/a few tweaks this toy would be fantastic.

Gets my Wire Fox Terrier excited every time!
Best toy ever! I have an energetic Wire Fox Terrier who gets bored easily with all his toys—except for this one! We’ve had this interactive food dispenser for seven years and Tintin still gets as excited about it as he did when we first got it, and it’s so sturdy that it survives his terrier outbursts. If this toy EVER breaks, we will immediately buy another one, but I have a feeling it’s going to last a long time and keep amusing my little guy. It’s fairly easy to clean, just fill it with dish soap water and let it sit for about ten minutes, shake it, rinse it, and let it dry overnight or maybe a day or two. It’s also not a noisy toy except for the rattle the kibble inside, which lets Tintin know there’s still something inside to work for, and it does make my dog noisy, but in this case that’s a good thing as he working out his wire Fox terrier energy.

Good For My . . . Not So Smart Dog
My dog, he's no genius. He's many things (adorable, silly, sweet, snorty, sometimes smelly), but smart? No. It took 6 months to master shake. And 6 months to do it with the other foot (and I'm an amateur animal trainer and have previously had him work with other professional trainers). He's just not a genius. With him, he'll give up if it's too hard, or turn to brute force. And at 60 pounds, wide mouthed, and strong teeth, he can do some damage if so inclined. So, I never leave him alone with food toys (EVER!), but I also have to find ones interesting enough to last more than 3 seconds, but easy enough that he won't give up and try to break it with his teeth. We worked our way up to get here. Started with a purple clamshell, tried a rolling ball that dispensed treats (that one was too hard, he gave up), some puzzle toys (too small), and eventually got the bob-a-lot. I got a size large, and so far have been pleased. It's relatively easy to fill (take off yellow top, put food in. But note that there is a secondary hole in the top section where you load the food so you narrow it and make the puzzle harder), and holds a good amount (I've gotten two full cups of Taste of the Wild kibbles in there). I was honestly worried that he'd be able to ever find it easy enough to keep going. He loves the clamshell, but it doesn't take very long and I have to refill it a couple times to get all his breakfast. I decided to give this guy a go. I put it in front of him, said ok (his release word to know he can go check out a food/treat) and he went to investigate. By lucky chance (or maybe not) it wobbled right over and dispensed treats. By golly, he'd figured it out! So he nudged it again. And again! And again! He figured it out quickly, kept motivated for 15-20 minutes, and emptied it! I was so pleased! What I like about wobble/bobble toys (as opposed to a ball that just rolls) is the dispensing part always becomes "available" again when it stands upright. With a ball that rolls and dispenses treats, you have to get the treat hole side rolled down for it to work, and that can take a lot of work (and my dog gives up). With the wobbler, it's not complicated logic, but it returns to a user friendly position for my dog. We've used it multiple times now, and he's pretty much stuck with it each time. Occasionally the payout won't come for a bit and he'll come look at me, confused. But usually if I tell him to go get his food, he'll go back to it, or if I show him there's still more, he's sufficiently motivated again. He generally prefers things he can carry around, and despite his big mouth, he has a hard time with this one, and when he drops it, it is loud. His teeth have also manage to scratch the plastic, despite it seeming pretty damn tough. So I know I could not leave him alone with this because when he gets frustrated he tries to chew a toy to get the food out. I worry he'd break a tooth or something on this guy, so it's supervised time only. I finally just ordered the size small for my boyfriend's dog (15 pounds, the large would dominate her!). Hopefully she'll love it just as much (she's also a rather simple dog). I just love when they have to do something besides chomp out of a bowl to eat, and dinner is wet food, so it's really only breakfast we can make so fun!

Best food dispenser toy I’ve found
I was looking for a food dispenser toy as a boredom breaker for my working cocker spaniel and as a method of making him ‘work’ for his food to help manage his waistline! I’ve had various types before but they usually don’t get used, either because they dispense food too easily and only last a few minutes each time, are flimsy and break, or are too difficult and he gets bored trying with no reward. This one is great; a good size and really robust, and the weighting combined with the ability to vary the size of the dispensing hole means it’s just difficult enough without being too difficult. I put his kibble in it each evening, along with a few pieces of treats to make it even more interesting, and he spends a good half hour pushing it around till it’s empty. It really keeps his attention and he looks forward to it each day; he knows when it’s time and gets very excited waiting while I fill it! By the time it’s empty he’s ready for a sleep, so it definitely tires him out mentally and physically. As some other reviews say, it takes a few minutes to get the kibble and treats fed into the hole to fill it, but it’s a very minor niggle and certainly wouldn’t put me off buying it. Definitely well worth the money- if you’re looking for a food dispenser toy for any reason, I’d highly recommend trying this one.
