Nude Dance Poses for Art Students: 109 Black and White Pictures by Mr Carney Malone (2015-01-09)

The book is useful for some additional poses for my photography. But dancers can come up with additional poses themselves. The print quality can have been a higher quality, but the book is generally fit for purpose for those extra poses.

Pictures are grainy but overall a decent book for some extra life drawing

I hope there will be future releases of nude dance reference books, especially of the quality and variety on display in this book. Some of the best pieces I've ever created were inspired by it.I have a decent collection of figure drawing reference books/images, and I think this is one of the best out there. Of all in my collection, I find myself constantly going back to this one. Dance is an obvious choice of subject for an artist (myself included), but it is surprisingly difficult to find good reference images of dancers, let alone nude dance poses. The models and their poses are fantastic and extremely inspiring. I never browse through without getting ideas for future artworks.The images are black and white and reproduced on plain paper. There are no male poses. There are many models showcased, and each has multiple (yet different) poses on display. There are probably less than ten poses out of over a hundred that have motion blur, and it is mainly in the hands and feet. It's been pointed out in other reviews that the quality of the images are not perfect. Mr. Malone is fully aware of this and he explains why in the introduction.Overall, this is an excellent product for any serious figurative artist who wants to create beautiful art.

This is the third book by Carney Malone that I've bought so far. The poses are everything an artist needs.

この作品は☆1か☆2で迷いました。表紙が鮮やかなので、中身も白黒なりに鮮やかな事を期待しましたが、世界が違います。ダンスポーズですから、当然動いている被写体があり、動きをブレ無く写し出す為にはシャッター速度を上げなくてはいけません。←普通に撮影したなら陰影が残る。昨今のデジタルカメラの性能向上により画像取得時間は大幅に改善されているはずなのに、書籍内部では、まるで銀塩を再現したような写真が掲載されている。そう、粒子の荒いフィルムで露光不足で撮影したような写真です。表紙のきれい目のモデルさん、該当モデルが本書内に居るのか確認できず。☆を2にしようと思ったのは、動きのあるモデルですから、もしかしてクッロキー書く人にとっては、こんな粗い画像でも良いのかなって思いましたが、それは書く人の選択でしょうから、こんなに解像度が低い必要はありません。結果として、私は金をドブに捨てた感じです。

This book is disappointing for personal use; the pictures are black and white in mediocre quality, the paper is similar to that of newspaper material and it seems if I could have printed these pictures from random photos off the web but buying this would still be more effective than wasting time and supplies. If you have good internet and money to pay for a subscription then I recommend going to 3DSK for a variety of models and 360° photo sets for your own artwork. But if you don't have much cash and don't have reliable internet I would rather suggest the Art Model series as a better choice. I'll most likely donate this book to my community college art class as it seems the best book to use for a classroom setting to share amongst others rather than use for oneself.
