Q: I have both pet stains and dirt/stains from normal wear and traffic. Which product does a better job for a combo carpet?

I had pet stains and thought the product was great to treat those pet stains and prevent them from marking the area again. My carpet is fairly new; therefore, I felt the high traffic area was cleaned well.

Q: can this be used without the rug doctor cleaning machine?

Yea but the machine has better suction than any others I have ever owned . It’s under $250.00 at Costco .

Q: How do i remove the white residue that this leaves behind?

That sounds like soap residue! Use less of the product. And if you are using a steam cleaner type machine, maybe put just water in it and go back over your area to pull out the excess product.
