Delivered in great condition. Used it to harvest some apples from high or hard to reach areas - worked great. Light weight and telescopes out for a long reach. Takes a little time to pull off each apple and bring it down into bushel basket. I put the basket a ways off to the side so that the length of the picker let me drop the apple gently into the bushel basket. Would probably work better as a 2-person operation to harvest a lot of apples.

Quality and light weight!
Used first time yesterday, so far it was great? I like how easy the twist of poles allowed for adjusting the length. My nine year old grandson was able to use this tool easily also! I wanted light weight..it feels well made...good job!

Disappointed
The Gardenite Heavy Duty !3- foot Fruit Picker has a basket too big to grab apples. It also tears the fruiting spur too easily when you attempt to remove fruit. You cannot twist the stem and pull. I went back to picking by hand with my tall apple ladder.

Not so peachy
I really liked the fruit picker except for the fact that the metal ends of the cage scraped the skin off the outside of the peaches. I think it will be great to use when our apples are ready to be picked since their skins are not as fragile. A possible solution would be to have rounded edges on the cage or silicone coating.

Good for me, bad for birds.
I'm so thrilled with this thing. My pear trees are out-of-control massive and even if I were to teeter atop a ladder, which my clumsy ass is not going to do, I wouldn't be able to reach most of them. Instead in years past I've been stuck on the ground watching as birds and squirrels enjoy the literal fruits of my labor. Not this year! This thing came fully assembled and its HUGE when extended but collapses to fit easily in my garage (about the same height as a long shovel). Even with it fully extended it was light and I was able to easily manipulate it to grab the pears. The basket is big enough that you can grab a few fruits at a time for easier picking. I was able to grab some huge pears I would never have gotten otherwise. Take that, birds!

Fruit Picker
I don't have any fruit at the moment to pick, so this review is based on the item itself. I received this item at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. This fruit picker has a very lightweight aluminum handle that makes it easy to maneuver when fully extended. The handle is comprised of 3 parts that lock together with a simple twist. This feature does take a little getting used to as each connection can be locked in either direction instead of a typical 1-way locking position. It's also beneficial that the poles cannot be completely pulled apart from each other when fully extending since there are stopping mechanisms within. At 13 feet when extended, most fruit should be easy to reach without a ladder. The foam padding that comes in the basket feels as though it will keep any fruit picked from becoming bruised. It appears that this product will come in very handy when I have fruit to pick.I look forward to using this product in the future!

I am very pleased with the Fruit Picker
I am very pleased with the Fruit Picker. It was well packed, arrived earlier than promised, and was exactly as described. The basket was already attached to the pole, so I did not have "attachment issues" as other product users have described.Straight from the box, I used the Fruit Picker to pick ~30 Gala apples from my tree. I found the pole to be easily extendable and sturdy (even when fully extended). The fruit was easy to pick and plopped softly into the cushioned basket. I had no problem reaching or grasping the fruit, but I had pruned the tree last winter and thinned the fruit spring.I have since picked another ~30 apples with no problems.I am very pleased with this product and am glad I no longer need to use a ladder.
