Is it possible for a 1yo to wear this? Or is it way too big? I measured his head at about 46 cm.

Hello! I would suggest washing by hand. With my nephew, the eye pieces were popping out within 30 min of use...loved the look, super disappointed in the quality. Pretty sure he's given up on them as it is somewhat difficult to reassemble when they pop out
