I now have three of these because I finally found the perfect silicone spatula/scraper. I love these for bread making especially because they’re FIRM and hold up. The colors are super fun and it made it easy to “mark” one that no one is allowed to use except for baking sweet things or making bread. They wash up fantastically and have a perfect shape and edge to scrape the sides of bowls. I use these for all sorts of hot and room temperature applications. I highly recommend these spatulas. I keep finding I need to replace others in my drawer that break with these, I’ve had my first one for a few years now and it still looks brand new!

I like it because it is very sturdy and perfect size for 6qt kitchen aid bowl. But its curved edge doesn’t fit the bowl shapes so it never scrape good and leave the batter in the bowls.

As a professional chef, I have many, many kitchen tools and gadgets. Some are used sporadically for specific tasks. Others, the best, are used often and for multiple applications. This is one of those. I have literally had dozens of plastic/nylon/silicon spatulas over the years and most have suffered at my hands in one way or another. You can buy cheap silicone spatulas at the dollar store and they will do a splendid job cleaning the last bit of food out of a bowl. But, don't wipe out a pull-top can of cream of mushroom soup with them or sharp edge of the can will cut them and leave little red silicone garnishes in your green bean casserole. Also, the cheap ones are cheaply made (duh), often unsanitary (if it comes apart), and the handles will melt if laid in a hot pan. Not this one. The Di Oro has a very sturdy handle, is shaped perfectly and, most importantly, is heat resistant. It is one piece, so no sanitation issues and, I expect, will last for years. The reason I expect that is because it comes with a lifetime warranty. Do yourself or someone you know who loves to cook a favor and buy one of these.
