Full of flavour
Most important is the slight hunt of smokiness that comes from the roast of this tea. Full of all the usual Darjeeling flavour - and for me, second flush with a little honey makes this perfect.Airtight, re-sealable packaging finishes off a great product

Tea for the summer
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this tea but after a few cups of the stuff, It’s ok. Give me an everyday/English breakfast tea any day of the week but to mix things up a bit, it does the trick. I will say the bag was rammed with loose leaves so for the price, you get value for money. I won’t buy this one again but not to say I won’t try the other varieties that are available

Daily Summer Black Tea is absolutely delicious!
I'm a huge fan of English breakfast tea, but the name of this tea caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. This is a delightful tasting black tea, light enough for a summer morning yet tasty enough for a cool morning. I drink my tea the English way, with cream and sugar and this tea has enough flavor to hold up to the cream which is not true of all teas. The leaves are not ground up like some of the other brands, and this is probably one of the only teas I've ever been able to rebrew for another decent up of tea that tastes as good as the first. This is definitely my new favorite wake up tea!

A robust roasted Darjeeling tea
This is a review of TeaNOURISH Darjeeling Roasted Loose Leaf Black Tea. Darjeeling remains one of the world's most beloved teas because of its unique, slightly sweet and spicy flavor that is usually described as tasting like Muscatel. Muscatel refers to a distinctive flavor found in many Darjeeling teas, especially the second-flush teas. Second flush tea is produced in early summer. The tea from this season is quite a bit darker in its appearance when compared to first-flush tea, which is usually harvested in mid-March. Second-flush tea is more like a typical black tea, with a robust fermentation process producing a significant amount of malt sugar that gives the tea its distinctive sweetness. The leaves are usually dark brown and slightly grey. A cup of second-flush tea appears dark amber in color. The second-flush Darjeeling is typically described as having a distinctly sweet flavor that is not present in the other flushes or in teas that are from other regions. Other typical descriptions of Darjeeling are that it is a "musky and spice flavored tea", "a Muscat fruitiness in both its aroma and flavor," and as tasting like "dried raisins and hay". Though Darjeeling tea is somewhat difficult to describe, it is held in high regard by tea aficionados. Darjeeling tea gardens are located on the hillsides of the Eastern Himalayas, between 600 and 2,000 meters in elevation. That location in the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region, between the Himalayas and the Bay of Bengal, results in cool air with dry winter months from November to February followed by monsoon weather in the summer months between July and September. The onset of the monsoon clouds climbing the Himalayan hills into Darjeeling is often very dramatic. This TeaNOURISH Darjeeling Roasted tea is made by roasting tea leaves - over what I assume is wood - in order to infuse the leaves with a smoky flavor, which is meant to enhance its distinctly Darjeeling character. I brewed the leaves in cup at 190 degrees, allowing freshly boiled water to cool for 2-3 minutes before pouring. The tea has a slightly smoky aroma, its flavor likewise smoky with notes of oak, stone fruit, almonds and tobacco. The one flavor I found lacking was the distinctive Muscatel flavor, the attribute that distinguishes Darjeeling. The package doesn't provide information as to flush or leaf quality. The addition of roasting to the processing of this Darjeeling may be due to the nature of the harvest. This I cannot ascertain. In any case, this Darjeeling has many fine qualities, but lacks the main distinguishing Darjeeling uniqueness: that hard to describe Muscatel flavor that all aficionados of Darjeeling recognize at once. Nevertheless, it's a fine, robust tea, with a slightly smoky fruitiness that should appeal to you.

Not my favorite darjeeling
I have been drinking good tea for 30 years. Autumn flush tea is usually pretty good and smooth. This tastes like Lipton's. Bottom of the barrel crushed tea leaves and has a "funky" aftertaste. Will go back to my other brands from Amazon. This tea is a miss in my opinion unless you like grocery store tea brands.

Taste missing not the Darjeeling of old
Darjeeling flavor is no longer available. This does not have the muscatel aroma or distinctive flavor. At $16 for 100 g it's overpriced as well.

Musky, Earthy
I never tried Darjeeling tea before. I drink tea a few times a day but split my drinking between the Assam/Keemun types and non-descript ones sold by American companies as generic ‘orange pekoe’.I will say this does taste distinctly different from my usual Assam/Keemun teas. There’s an earthy taste underlying the standard tea. Overall I felt a bit letdown. It’s not that this is unpleasant tea by any means but all the high praise about fruity aroma and complex taste I read about didn’t seem to be true for this tea.I wasn’t able to detect all the subtle flavors that others seem to find here. What I did taste was what I’ll describe as earthy or musky. I’m not sure that this is the famed Muscatel flavor because I’ve never had Muscatel wine or even seen it or the grape it comes from. Almost all the tea I drink is either Assam or Keemun so clearly, I’m inexperienced in Darjeeling. After a few days and a few cups myself, I brewed up a mug for my wife who also drinks tea but isn’t familiar with this type. Without prompting, she too reported a musky flavor dominating. She also said she felt it improved quite a bit with some fresh lemon juice. In sum, I’m all right with this tea as is my wife but we’re unsure if we’ll buy it or any Darjeeling again. One interesting note is that this tea, unique as far as my experience, is packed in India. Presumably, that makes it fresher than if shipped overseas in bulk and then retail packed.
