AmLactin Intensive Healing Cream

This moisturizer is amazing. The past few years I've been noticing the skin on my forearms is changing. Becoming thinner, dryer, flaky and itchy. Since I've started using this my skin is much more supple and resilient, its soft and doesn't look as thin anymore. Its like my forearms are 10 years younger! Although this moisturizer does have an unintentional scent, its not horrible. Its kind of a flat, chemical smell, almost like old almonds or something. And the scent does fade quickly, in 20 minutes the scent is gone. Totally worth it for these results!

As many people have commented the smell is not the best. It’s not too offensive once the product is absorbed unto the skin but it has an undertone of ammonia and slightly expired milk. If you put a scented lotion on top of it though it’s easy to mask the smell. This product however leaves my skin BABY SOFT!!!!! It’s helped a lot with my KP, hyperpigmentation, and skin texture issues as well. It doesn’t give as drastic results of as something like a glycolic acid lotion but you can use it almost everyday without worrying as much about irritation. If you can get past the smell this product is absolutely worth your money! I just wouldn’t wear this with the assumption that you’re going to swoon people with the way you smell after putting it on.

My dermatologist had recommended this. If you have dry, flaky skin you should use this. This works better than any other product I’ve ever used. No, there’s no pleasing scent or choice of scents. And that’s okay because the trade off is soft skin that lasts a few days. And it’s naturally exfoliating so those annoying bumps on your elbows will go away! It takes a week or so for bumps to go away and it works great on feet. I recommend putting it on at night with some socks, and you will see a difference in the morning. The product is very thick so you don’t need to use a lot of it at one time, and it feels nice like a body butter.

My dermatologist recommended this product due to very dry skin patches that I have. It does keep my shoulders, arms and legs more moisturized better than other lotions I have used. I use it in this form, plus the pump bottle. This 15% version is thicker and doesn't spread out as thinly as the lotion in the pump bottle. The only odd thing is that this has a beef bouillon odor which the pump bottle lotion version doesn't have. It doesn't stink on my skin, although I guess smelling like beef isn't totally bad as I imagine I would be attractive to dogs. I like dogs. I will continue to use both the lotion and this cream as some areas just need a light coating and other areas need this thicker application. I will reorder this again when needed. I'm 73 and live in western Oregon (definitely not a dry area for 6 months) so my dry skin is probably more age related rather than environmental. I'm updating my review after using it a while. It does smell on my skin. The smell is really getting to me. It lingers for approx. a half day and starts to make me nauseous after an hour or so. I still like how it works, but I've switched to using the lotion in the pump bottle which doesn't have any scent, but it's a 12% solution rather than a 15% mix. I'm going to try to cover the scent (of the UNscented product!) with an essential oil as another reviewer has done. I ordered a tropical oil pack from Amazon and added less than 50 drops of pineapple and the same of coconut. I didn't add enough that it smells of coconut-pineapple, but it now has a fresh scent. Much better! I have this cream on a subscription order and can now fix that bouillion odor.

This stuff is unbelievably magical! Shower, put on dry cracked feet and socks. Works like magic. Softens feet, easy to apply and inexpensive!

I had to try this for a few weeks to have an honest opinion. It works great Amy skin feels so soft BUT I did find out that I cannot use it on my neck, chest or stomach. I broke out in a rash. At first I blamed it on new laundry detergent but after some process of elimination, discovered it was this lotion. I bought it for my legs anyway and it does not irritate that skin at all. Again, it works great for moisturizing my skin and I am pleased with it. The smell is very light and almost has a vanilla coconut scent to it. I have been putting it on every night when I go to bed. I will buy again.

This is literally the most unglamorous beauty product ever, but by golly it works. One application got rid of all the bumps on the backs of my arms and legs and left my skin baby soft. The drawback? The scent is kind of weird, but I mixed it with a fragranced body lotion and problem solved. At $20, it's an absolute steal.

Made my skin soft but this is not "healing". I went back to using aquaphor. Aquaphor is "healing".
