How do I stop the mount from shaking the camera every time I move?

I don’t think that’s something that is an intended feature of the product but here’s some options: 1) mount it on a non moving surface. For example if you’re filming yourself at your desk and move the desk a lot, try mounting it on a side table or another surface you are not moving or that is not moved by your actions. 2) you can make the gooseneck into a pretzel shape so that it doesn’t sway as easy I stream sim racing and I have one clamp mounted to the stand for my green screen and the other mounted to my monitor stand. I assume if I had it mounted to my racing rig it would move a lot. But, having it mounted on other surfaces not used in racing is the only way to get it to not shake. Provide more context perhaps if this doesn’t help.

Can the stand allow the camera to be pointed straight down at a desk surface?

Yes, the stand is strong enough to keep it straight down at a desk surface with no problem. Not positive about how heavy you can go, but if you are using a web camera, a regular portable video camera or a DSLR camera it should be fine.

How can I keep the camera from spinning/moving slightly even after everything else is tightened/secured?

You need to tighten the bottom and top

Is it compatible with C920e?

It is workable. I check the Logitech web and it indicates it has a 1/4'' thread.
