Slippery Pete Mini Pistol Grip Grease Gun. Heavy Duty Design for 3oz Cartridges. 12 inch Flexible Hose and 5 inch Rigid Extension Pipe

I purchased two min-size grease guns: a Performance Tool (PT) gun, and Slippery Pete's gun. The difference between these two grease guns is like night and day: - Material and Finish: The PT gun body is made of a thin sheet metal, painted in black; Slippery Pete's gun body is made of a solid tube, twice as thick as PT's, and it's nickel-ed - it will last much longer than the PT. - Alternate Grease Exit: the PT cover for the alternative exit is a slotted screw, poorly finished (there are metal barbs left from machining), and sticking out of the pistol grip; Slippery Pete's cover is a hex socket screw, nicely finished that goes flush with the grip. You can easily strip the slotted screw while trying to tighten it, however, it's much harder to strip the hex socket (unless, of course, you're using the wrong hex wrench). - Spring and Push/Pull Handle: The PT's handle stays out once you put the grease tube in; Slippery Joe's handle tucks inside the pump body by rotating it 90 degrees. This feature makes it twice as compact as the PT. - Oil Leaks form the Grease: PT gun leaks greatly, especially at the alternate exit cap (screw). Due to rough machining, the leaks exist even when trying to seal the exit with Teflon tape. On the other hand, Slipper Joe's gun doesn't leak at all. As a caution, I did wrap a couple of layers of Teflon on the cap screw, however, it was not necessary (I think). - Injection Force: both PT and Slippery Pete guns performed well greasing shaft spiders and other parts requiring lubrication through grease nipples. - Repair-ability: the PT gun is difficult to repair due to its construction, where the pump bottom (where the rod and handle are located) is crimped. By contrast, Slippery Joe's gun can be disassembled / unscrewed, and worn parts easily replaced. This is a big feature with me, as I don't subscribe to the "consumerism" mentality that's so prevalent in the American culture. I prefer to give my tools some TLC, and in return they reward me with long use life, reduce pollution, and save money in the long run. The bottom line: Slippery Pete's mini grease gun is the best grease gun I purchased to-date (I have another, full-size grease gun, made in Germany, which I stopped using since I got the Slippery Pete. It's oozing oil from the grease all over the place. Talking about German engineering!)

This compact, lightweight grease gun is good quality and works well in tight places. I have two larger guns but go to this one because you can use it one handed if needed

Great grease gun the included hose and hard tube option is wonderful, and the grease fitting is nice and well built. The included instructions are well done and informative if you have never used one before and the all metal construction is great for the price point.

Overall it's fine. Works as described. Only 4 stars because the nozzle on the gun locks on so tightly, I have a difficult time getting it off. I've had several other grease guns but none this tight. I greased the outdrive on my boat and pulled it so hard, I pulled the grease fitting off the drive. Hopefully it will loosen up a bit over time.
