Excellent snack or lunch replacement
Dang good. Mild fish flavor. Can is fairly big but, you will want to eat the whole thing. Can it's also packed with fish, not all liquid. The tightly packed fish keeps it from breaking apart in shipping. I like mine with club crackers.

Fishy, stinky, DELICIOUS
I love tinned kippers. I'm a freak though. My dad taught me how to hunt and trap when I was young. Having these on a saltine cracker are some of my fondest memories of my Dad. We would use the remaining juices to bait animals, it is indeed a powerful fish stank. But if your a roughneck from the woods, it vibes hard.Under no circumstance should you eat this at work or in a communal space. But so so yummy. Smokey, protien packed and instant food fuel. Do not take these camping. The animals will ruin your life/weekend from the bloodlust this smell ignites in nature. Also! It's fantastic fish bait/lunch at the lake. No need for powerbait!

Excellent flavor
This brand is a very clean Kipper style Herring. The taste is outstanding, espeically in a green onion, rice vinegar or lemon and dill brine. It's ultra high Omega 3 source.

Very good
Very tasty!! I smear cream cheese, the onion flavor, and one of these filets on a club cracker and one can, which is a serving of powerful nutrients and vitamins, the one can is a meal. Lunch, supper, bfast on the go, even. Better price than my local grocery store, too. Get you some!!STRONG 4STAR

Good tasting smoked kippers, not bad for canned
These are pretty good kippers, and I got a good batch (no leaky cans or anything). For those who haven't had them before and to use familiar terms, kippered herring is somewhat like tuna in consistency and texture. Yes, they smell a tad more fishy than tuna typically does, but this brand wasn't overwhelming. It's just there a bit. Although packed in oil, it drained easily enough, and I decided to cook mine by frying in a smidge of olive oil, with salt, pepper, a shake of Old Bay seasoning, and a few tablespoons of finely chopped red onion. Then I served it with eggs (hard-boiled, in this case).Cooked, the fishy aroma is virtually unnoticeable, and tasting it, the smoke flavoring comes through. The texture is crumbly, yet not dry (I didn't overcook), and I noticed no bones or other problemsโat least not with the first can I tried.I bought these kippers mainly because I wanted more canned fish options available besides albacore tuna and the like, and these were significantly less expensive than the single brand carried by my local grocery store. Overall, I like them and may well get again once I make my way through the pack of 12 I got.

They are not the same they changed !
They have changed them from what they was before. They were packed in oil now it's water. The flavor also taste is not there anymore. The texture is still there the odor is the same. It appears to be less salt in the product. But for me it's not a good value for the money if I don't enjoy it.
