My gable-mounted light finally died after several years, so I ordered this one. If this new bulb lasts as long as its predecessor, I'll be delighted. Time will tell. The part numbers were not identical but the lamp itself is identical to the old one, and it puts out at least as much light. We live out in the boonies, and we appreciate having the light every night.

This bulb works just fine with our fixture. Had a Philips bulb prior to this didn't last a few months going on and off by itself. Funny since the last Philips bulb lasted almost years. Thought it may be the fixture, but this bulb proved it wasn't and that the Philips bulb was defective.

I bought the 100W for a friend who was having a hard time finding the right bulb. She says it is very bright but gives off an orange color light.

These are getting hard to find locally. Good item.

In 2014 I installed a HPS light fixture that would operate from dusk till dawn. The bulb that came with the fixture lasted till 2020, so 6 years, or approximately 26,000 hours assuming an average of 12hrs on per day. In 2020 I bought one of these bulbs to replace the failed bulb. This first replacement bulb lasted just 2 years, so approximately 9,000 hours. I replaced that bulb with another one of these same bulbs in 2022, assuming the short life was just a fluke. Well here we are a year later, and that bulb has failed with less than 5,000 hours. Needless to say I won't be purchasing another one, as the bulbs are failing far sooner than they should be.
