North Face's Ultra 111 is such a hands down winner in the trail shoe arena that I now own two pair. Every person interested in the hiking domain must understand the need to take care of one's feet. This shoe offers the owner an all around solution no matter the environment one chooses. From my perspective the performance of the North Face Ultra 111 is unequalled and thus I now own two pair. Versatility, comfort, and durability all equal an outstanding shoe for those seeking a shoe for all occasions and situations one may encounter wheather in the outdoors or in the office. A superior performance by an outstanding piece of kit.

I bought these mainly for fall hikes. I ordered my normal size and they were a little tight right out of the box, but loosened up with use and fit perfectly now. My first real test of them was a day spent hiking in northern Michigan. The temperature was in the lower 50s, and there was occasional light rain. My feet were very comfortable in these shoes all day. Never got wet and stayed warm. Happy with this purchase.

Using NorthFace 'X Pack' shoes for couple of last year. This ones are a bit large when the previous generation but also a bit more comfortable. Haven't tested those under heavy rain.

Seems like the water-proofing does the job; good grip with the sole. Comfort-wise, it doesn't even compare to my prior North Face Hedgehogs which went 12 miles at a shot - I don't think I'd like these after 5. I was hoping for better (like my old Salomon X Ultra 2 GTX), not worse. Slightly odd bend-crease in top center as I walk.

True to fit very comfortable. Really like the color and they have been very durable

Bought it to replace my old 110. Most noticeable change is the lace. The old lace was not round but was better textured and had better bite when tied. The waterproofing material also changed from Gortex to their own proprietary material. Seems to make no difference. Probably just cost saving on their part. Out if the box the 111 had no comfort issues. I remember the old 110 had a issue at the toe box for me for a few weeks until it broke in. It was the extra protruding material where the tongue meets the toe box. Good thing the 111 did not have the same issue. I’ve wore Salomen and La Sportiva trail runners. Those two other brands have better design properties but were narrow for me. The NorthFace 111 had the best fit for me. I will definitely buy again.

Some quality aspects of the Ultras 111 decreased in comparison to my 109 bought in 2019.Note: I'm in Spain, I didn't bought this product in Europe because it's not available here. I've already performed a claim, and Amazon customer service advice me to return the product and it will be on me, charges regarding shipping and customs.Cons.:- Rear and front reflective system eliminated.- Inner waterproof clothe it's delicate, in fact start ripping on the heel sewing.- In sole semi- ridgid or preformed to provide arc, not available, just a soft ones.- North face logo eliminated from rear part of shoes.- Replaced lateral semi leather supports with cheap foamy sheet.Pros:- Nice design.- Outer sole looks pretty solid and functional.- Great colour.
