Surya Namaskarn

I have gravitated to music with Indian influenced rhythms as I enjoy the complexity of the song structure. I was not aware of Dewa Budjana but I am very familiar with Vinnie Colaiuta and Jimmy Johnson. I trusted that these two exemplary musicians knew something that I did not when they added their talents to this recording. What a pleasant surprise that they saw fit to play music with this very talented individual. Dewa clearly is a huge talent in his own right and in this recording I got what I was looking for. Very well crafted songs that are well written and played with vim and vigor with a fresh intensity that gets better each time I listen to it. Their are two other noteworthy guest on this disc; Gary Husband and my all time favorite guitar player the esteemed Michael Landau. Again why do these musicians chose to play with Dewa. They like me found something unique and inspiring his his playing. As I live in Arizona and The Baked Potato is a haul my hope is he might come to Arizona and play at our world class venue The Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.

Even the enormous talents of Vinnie Colaiuta and Jimmy Johnson must have been pleasantly taken aback by the brilliance brought forth from Dewa. This is a sensational fusion record Stunning in so many ways.

I am enjoying the cd and will order dewa budjana's cds whenever they come out. I have 3 of his cds and enjoy all of them.

Amazing, I can't imagine myself living normally without listening to this album at least once a week.

インドネシアのギタリストのギターフュージョンですが、実は私この分野が大好きでして、新たな弾き手が現れるとチェックしてしまいます。このDewa　Budjanaさんは写真で見るとトム・アンダーソンのギターを抱えた小柄なアジアンで、いかにも人の良さそうな印象です。しかし、その脇にはジミー・ジョンソン（ベース）ヴィーニー・カリウタ（ドラムス）という鉄壁のリズム隊…。そしてその二人が熱い演奏を惜しみなく展開する内容です。そのギタープレイはというと、レガートながら拍に合わせて丁寧に弾く感じで、瞬発的な速さに欠けるモノの技量はバックの二人が熱くなるのもうなづけます。例えて挙げれば初期のスコット・ヘンダーソンかな…。そしてやはり５トラックがエスニックで、ギターインストの作品の中では異彩を放ちますが、これが最大の魅力だと言えます。後半ほどエスニック度が増し、前半はプログレの影響も感じる良質なギターフュージョンです。他にゲストでマイケル・ランドゥとゲイリー・ハズバンド（鍵盤だけかも）も参加した豪華な作品に仕上がっています。
